THERMOSTAT
All models use a thermostat that starts to open at 195°F (91°C), and is fully open at 222°F (106°C).
PRESSURE CAP
On "P" Series Motor Homes and some "G" Series Vans with the VIN J 6.2L diesel engine, a deaeration tank is used instead of a coolant recovery tank.
Deaeration tank uses a 9 psi (.6 kg/cm 2 ) pressure cap. All other models use a 15 psi (1.0 kg/cm 2 ) pressure cap which should be tested at 14-17 psi (.9-1.2 kg/cm 2 ).
MAINTENANCE
Inspect cooling system every 12 months or 15,000 miles. Drain and flush cooling system every 24 months or 30,000 miles. Maintain coolant level with 50% mixture of ethylene glycol based anti-freeze and water.
