Visual/Physical Inspection
- Inspect for aftermarket devices which can affect the operation of the power outlets. Refer to «Checking Aftermarket Accessories»(ref-365275-S25618774722010070600000)
- Inspect the accessible system components or the visible system components for obvious damage or for obvious conditions which can cause the symptom.
Symptom List
Refer to Power Outlet Receptacle Malfunction (12V DC) or Power Outlet Receptacle Malfunction (110V AC) in order to diagnose the system.
Diagnostic Instructions

Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate X80 accessory power receptacle.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal C and ground. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminate between the B+ circuit terminal A and ground. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the X80 accessory power receptacle.

- Ignition OFF, nothing plugged into the X81 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC, disconnect the harness connectors at the T1 accessory DC/AC power inverter module.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 1 X2 and ground. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 2 X2 and ground. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Test for less than 1.0 V between the signal circuit terminal 2 X1 and ground. If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the X81 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 2 X1 and ground. If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 1.0 V between the AC circuit terminals listed below and ground: Terminal 4 X1 Terminal 6 X1 If greater than the specified value, test the AC circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the X81 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC.
- Test for infinite resistance between the AC circuit terminals listed below and ground: Terminal 4 X1 Terminal 6 X1 If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the terminals listed below: X81 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC terminal 3 and the T1 accessory DC/AC power inverter module terminal 4 X1. X81 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC terminal 6 and the T1 accessory DC/AC power inverter module terminal 6 X1. If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate line circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the X80 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the X80 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition voltage circuit terminal 4 and ground. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the X80 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC.
- Connect an AC powered device to the X80 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the T1 accessory DC/AC power inverter module signal circuit terminal 2 X1 and ground. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the X80 accessory power receptacle - 110 V AC.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the T1 accessory DC/AC power inverter module.
