Checking Actuator Wiring

Turn ignition off. Check all 4 actuator connectors and wiring for wear and damage. Repair as necessary. If damage is not apparent, proceed to TEST B2.

Turn ignition off. Reconnect ARC module connector. DO NOT close module panel yet. Check actuator wiring and connector for damage and improper installation. Repair as necessary. If no damage is found, proceed to TEST B6.

Position Sensor Wiring Continuity

  1. Turn ignition off. Open trunk, and lower module package tray behind left side of back seat. Disconnect ARC module 60-pin connector.
  2. Ensure ARC module connection at pin No. 46 (Yellow/Black wire) is okay. Ensure Yellow/Black wire and terminal are okay at problem actuator. Check continuity between ARC module pin No. 46 and Yellow/Black wire terminal at defective actuator. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring as necessary. If continuity exists, proceed to TEST B26.

Checking Headlight Wiring

  1. Turn ignition off. Open trunk, and lower module package tray behind left side of back seat. Disconnect ARC module 60-pin connector.
  2. Using DVOM, check voltage between pins No. 1 (circuit No. 14 for headlights) and 60 at ARC module 60-pin connector. Turn headlights on and off. If voltage is 12 volts with headlights on and zero volts with headlights off, replace ARC module.
  3. If voltage is always 12 volts or always zero volts, repair problem in headlight switch circuit (Brown wire between pin No. 1 of ARC module and headlight switch). see scheme 2and see scheme 3.

Brake Pressure Switch Harness Connector Check

Turn ignition off. Disconnect brake pressure switch at proportioning valve under master cylinder. Check wires at brake pressure switch connector for obvious damage. If wires are damaged, repair as necessary. If damage is not apparent, proceed to TEST D24.

Note. Function will not be affected if brake pressure switch wires are found to be reversed in TEST D23.

Checking EVO Wiring Continuity

Disconnect EVO connector from EVO valve on power steering pump. Check continuity of Yellow/Light Green wire between ARC module pin No. 48 (circuit No. 330) and EVO valve connector using DVOM. Also check continuity of Light Blue wire between ARC module pin No. 43 (circuit No. 353) and EVO valve connector. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring as necessary. If continuity exists, proceed to TEST E4.

Checking Wiring Harness For Short To Ground

Turn ignition off. Open trunk, and lower module package tray behind left side of back seat. Disconnect ARC module 60-pin connector. Using DVOM, check resistance between pins No. 60 (Black wire) and 43 (Light Blue wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, proceed to TEST E6. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, inspect harness for short to ground.

Checking EVO Wiring Harness For Short To Ground

Using DVOM, check resistance between pins No. 60 (Black wire) and 48 (Yellow/Light Green wire) at ARC module 60-pin connector. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, harness is good; replace ARC/EVO module. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair harness for short to ground.
