Starter Removal & Installation Ford Thunderbird IX

1.6L & 2.3L HSC 4-CYL.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect cable at starter terminal. Remove rear starter support bracket. On manual transaxle, remove roll restrictor nuts from starter studs. Remove bracket.
2. On automatic transaxle, remove hose bracket from starter stud. On all vehicles, remove starter mounting studs/bolts and remove starter.

Note. Information on the 2.0L and 2.4L diesel engines not available from manufacturer.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect starter cable from motor. Remove starter mounting bolts and remove starter.
