ENGINE IDENTIFICATION

Note. For engine repair procedures not covered in this article, see ENGINE OVERHAUL PROCEDURES - GENERAL INFORMATION article in the GENERAL INFORMATION section.

Engine may be identified by Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at top of instrument panel, near windshield on left side of vehicle and is visible from outside. The 8th character of the VIN indicates engine type.

ENGINE IDENTIFICATION CODES

Removal

  1. Disconnect battery cables. Mark hinges for reinstallation and remove hood. Drain cooling system and discharge A/C (if equipped). Remove air cleaner assembly, battery and tray, integrated relay controller, cooling fan, radiator and shroud. Remove bounce damper bracket on shock tower.
  2. Disconnect evaporative emission line, upper radiator hose, starter brace, lower radiator hose, and exhaust manifold at pipe. Remove power steering pump lines, fuel lines, vacuum lines, ground strap, and heater hoses. Disconnect accelerator cable linkage, throttle valve linkage, and speed control cable.
  3. Disconnect following connections: alternator, A/C compressor, EGO sensor, ignition coil, radio frequency suppressor, cooling fan voltage resistor, coolant temperature sensor, and TFI module.
  4. Remove following components of injector wiring harness: 6 injectors, ACT sensor, ISC, and throttle position sensor. Remove oil pressure sending switch, ground wire, block heater (if equipped), knock sensor, EGR sensor and oil level sensor. Install engine lifting bolts and chains.
  5. Remove lower damper bolt from right side of engine. Raise and support vehicle. Place jack and wood block under engine block. Remove nuts attaching right front and right rear insulators to frame. Raise engine with jack. Remove 2 through bolts and remove insulator from engine bracket.
  6. Remove left tire and wheel. With jack and wood block still under engine, remove nut and bolt attaching hydraulic engine damper to transmission support assembly. Push damper shaft up out of way. Remove 2 nuts attaching insulator to support assembly.
  7. Remove 2 through bolts attaching insulator to frame. Raise transmission with jack. Remove bolts attaching support assembly to transmission. Remove the insulator and/or transmission support assembly.
  8. Remove bolt attaching lower end of right engine damper to engine bracket. Remove bolts attaching upper damper bracket to shock tower bracket. Remove engine damper. Remove speed control servo and bracket assembly.
  9. Remove bolt and nut attaching lower end of left engine damper to engine mount attaching bracket. Remove bolts attaching upper damper bracket to side rail bracket. Remove left engine damper. Remove engine.

Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Check fluid levels. Start engine and check for leaks.

INTAKE MANIFOLD

CAUTIONSome engine components are aluminum. Use ONLY Ford Cooling System Fluid (E2FZ-19549-A) when refilling.

Scheme 8: Removal
  1. Drain engine cooling system. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove flex hose from throttle body and air cleaner. Remove throttle linkage shield. Mark and disconnect vacuum hoses from throttle body. Disconnect EGR valve. Disconnect throttle linkage. Mark and disconnect electrical connectors.
  2. Disconnect PCV hose. Remove alternator support brace. Remove 6 throttle body assembly bolts. Remove throttle body assembly and gasket. (Scheme 8) Remove fuel cap to relieve fuel tank pressure. Release fuel pressure at fuel pressure relief valve on fuel rail assembly. (Scheme 8): Throttle Body Assembly
  3. Using Coupling Disconnect Tool (D87L-9974-B), disconnect fuel supply line and return line. Remove wiring harness from fuel injectors. Disconnect vacuum line from fuel pressure regulator valve. Remove upper radiator hose. Disconnect water outlet heater hose.
  4. Mark and remove spark plug wires from spark plugs. Remove distributor cap and wires. Mark distributor-to-engine and remove distributor assembly. Remove intake manifold bolts. Remove intake manifold and gaskets.
  1. Clean gasket mating surfaces. Lightly oil attaching bolts and stud threads before installation. When using silicone rubber sealer, assembly must occur within 15 minutes after sealer is applied. Apply Silicone Rubber Sealer (D6AZ-19562-A) to intersection of cylinder block assembly and head assembly at all 4 corners.
  2. Install front and rear intake manifold seals. Position intake manifold gaskets in place with locking tabs over tabs on cylinder head gaskets. (Scheme 10) Carefully lower intake manifold into position on cylinder block and cylinder heads to prevent smearing silicone sealer.
  3. Install intake manifold bolts and tighten in sequence and in 2 steps to specifications. (Scheme 9) To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Fill coolant level with specified coolant. Check for leakage.

Removal & Installation (Left Side)

Remove engine oil dipstick tube support bracket. Remove power steering pump pressure and return line. Remove exhaust manifold-to-inlet pipe nuts. Remove exhaust manifold bolts. Remove exhaust manifold. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lightly oil bolts and stud threads prior to installation.

Removal & Installation (Right Side)

Remove heater hose support bracket. Disconnect heater hoses. Remove EGR tube from exhaust manifold. Remove exhaust manifold-to-inlet pipe nuts. Remove exhaust manifold bolts. Remove exhaust manifold. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lightly oil bolts and stud threads prior to installation.

  1. Drain cooling system. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove intake manifold. See «INTAKE MANIFOLD»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u__intake-manifold) in this article. Remove accessory drive belts. If left cylinder head is being removed, remove alternator adjusting arm. If right cylinder head is being removed, remove accessory belt idler.
  2. Remove pump mounting bracket attaching bolts (if power steering equipped). Leave hoses connected and place pump with bracket assembly aside. Remove ignition coil bracket and dipstick tube from left head. Remove grounding strap throttle cable support bracket from right head.
  3. Remove exhaust manifolds. See «EXHAUST MANIFOLD»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) in this article. Remove PCV valve. Remove rocker arm covers. Loosen rocker arm bolts. Move rocker arm off push rod. Keep push rods in order, to ensure installation to original location and remove push rods. Remove cylinder head attaching bolts. Remove cylinder heads and gaskets.

Inspection

Clean head gasket mating surfaces. Clean carbon from combustion chambers. Use care not to damage surfaces. Check cylinder head for cracks and inspect gasket surface for burrs and nicks. Check cylinder heads for warpage. Warpage must not exceed .007" (.18 mm). DO NOT machine surface more than .010" (.25 mm). Replace cylinder head as necessary.

Scheme 11: Installation
  1. Replace dowels in cylinder block if damaged. Position new head gaskets on cylinder block using the dowels for alignment. Ensure marked side of gaskets are properly positioned. Install cylinder heads on block. Install cylinder head bolts. Tighten cylinder head bolts in sequence and in 2 steps. (Scheme 11) (Scheme 11): Cylinder Head Tightening Specifications
  2. Dip each push rod end in Oil Conditioner (D9AZ-19579-C). Install push rods in position from which they were removed. For each valve, rotate crankshaft until lifter and push rod are at lowest point on camshaft. Position rocker arm over push rod. Collapse lifter and tighten rocker arm bolt to specifications. NOTE: Rocker arms must be fully seated in cylinder head and push rods must be seated in rocker arm sockets prior to final tightening.
  3. With all rocker arms installed, check clearance between rocker arm and valve stem tip. See «HYDRAULIC VALVE LIFTER ASSEMBLY»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) in this article. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts/nuts to specifications. Fill cooling system with specified coolant only. Change oil and filter.
  1. Remove fan shroud and fan clutch assembly. Drain cooling system. Remove negative battery cable. Remove accessory drive belts. Remove right front wheel. Remove water pump pulley. Remove crankshaft damper pulley. Remove damper from crankshaft using Crankshaft Damper Remover (T58P-6316-D) and Vibration Damper Remover Adapter (T28L-6316-B).
  2. Pry seal from timing cover. Use care to prevent damage to front cover and crankshaft. Remove lower radiator hose. Remove oil pan. Remove 10 bolts retaining front cover and water pump assembly to engine. (Scheme 12) Remove front cover and water pump as an assembly.

Clean gasket mating surfaces. Always install new gaskets. Use sealant for front cover bolts which thread into water jackets. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts/nuts to specifications. Fill cooling system with specified coolant only. Change oil and filter.

FRONT COVER OIL SEAL

See CAMSHAFT TIMING COVER & FRONT SEAL in this article.

Remove the timing cover. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING COVER & FRONT SEAL . Position No. 1 piston on TDC of compression stroke. Check alignment of camshaft and crankshaft sprocket timing marks. Check timing chain deflection. Refer to TIMING CHAIN DEFLECTION in this article. Remove camshaft sprocket attaching bolts and washer. Slide sprockets and timing chain forward and remove as an assembly.

Timing Chain Deflection

  1. Remove left side rocker arm cover. Loosen No. 5 exhaust rocker arm and rotate to one side. Install a dial indicator on end of push rod. Turn crankshaft clockwise until No. 1 piston is at TDC, to take up slack on right side of chain. The damper timing mark should point to TDC.
  2. Zero dial indicator. Slowly turn crankshaft counterclockwise until slightest movement is seen on dial indicator. Note the number of degrees of travel from TDC. If reading exceeds 6 degrees, replace timing chain and sprockets.
CAUTIONDO NOT replace camshaft bolt with standard bolt. Bolt has a drilled oil passage.

Place timing chain on crankshaft and camshaft sprocket. Align timing marks on sprockets. (Scheme 13) Install camshaft bolt and washer. Tighten to specification. Ensure all timing marks are aligned. Apply oil to timing chain and sprockets after installation. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts/nuts to specifications.

  1. Remove engine and transaxle. Remove timing cover. See «CAMSHAFT TIMING COVER & FRONT SEAL»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) in this article. Remove valve covers. Loosen rocker arms bolts. Move rocker arms off of push rods. Mark and remove push rods. Remove intake manifold. Mark and remove valve lifters. Check camshaft end play. See INSPECTION below.
  2. Remove timing chain and sprockets as an assembly. Remove camshaft thrust plate. Remove camshaft by pulling out front of engine. Use care not to damage bearings, journals and lobes.

Check camshaft end play with dial indicator mounted to front of camshaft. Pry camshaft fully rear and zero indicator. Pry camshaft fully forward and not indicator reading. Replace thrust plate if not within specifications. Check camshaft lobe lift. Refer to CAMSHAFT LOBE LIFT in this article. Replace camshaft and lifters as necessary. Clean and inspect all parts before installation.

  1. Lubricate camshaft lobes and journals with heavy SAE 50W engine oil. Carefully slide the camshaft through the bearings in the cylinder block. Install the thrust plate and recheck the camshaft end play. Install the timing chain and sprocket. Refer to «CAMSHAFT TIMING COVER & FRONT SEAL»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) in this article.
  2. Lubricate components with heavy SAE 50W engine oil during installation. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure to collapse lifter before tightening rocker arm bolt. Tighten all bolts/nuts to specifications. Fill cooling system with specified coolant only. Check for leakage.

CAMSHAFT LOBE LIFT

  1. Camshaft lobe lift can be checked with camshaft installed or removed. Check camshaft lobe lift in consecutive order and record readings. With camshaft removed, measure distance between major and minor diameters of each lobe. The difference in reading is lobe lift.
  2. With camshaft installed, remove valve cover. Remove rocker arm bolt. Remove fulcrum and rocker arm. Install a dial indicator, with a cup shaped pointer, on top of cylinder head. Place push rod in cup shaped pointer in same plane as push rod movement.
  3. Install remote starter and leave ignition switch off. Use remote starter and rotate crankshaft until push rod is in lowest position. Zero dial indicator. Rotate crankshaft slowly until push rod is in fully raised position. Record reading and repeat procedure for remaining lobes. Replace camshaft and lifters if not within specifications. See «ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) tables at end of this article.

CAMSHAFT BEARINGS

With camshaft removed, check bearing clearance. If not within specifications, replace camshaft bearings. Remove camshaft bearings with Camshaft Bearing Set (T65L-6250-A). Reverse removal procedure for installation. Tighten all bolts/nuts to specifications. Fill cooling system with specified coolant only. Change oil and filter. Check for leakage.

CAMSHAFT CORE PLUG

Remove transaxle. Remove clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel or flexplate. Punch a hole in the center of the plug and remove plug with slide hammer. Clean and remove burrs from core plug bore. Oversize plugs are available. Apply a light coat of Perfect-Seal Sealing Compound (D5AZ-19554-A) to sealing edge of plug and install plug squarely.

VALVE SEATS

Note. Valve seat replacement information not available at this time.

Refacing

Valve seat must be a true 45 degree finished angle. Use only a 60 degree angle grinding stone to remove stock from bottom of all seats. Use a 30 degree angle grinding stone to remove stock from top of all seats. Intake seat width should be .06-.08" (1.5-2.0 mm) and exhaust seat width should be .08-.10" (2.0-2.5 mm).

Scheme 14: VALVES & VALVE GUIDE
  1. Mark all components prior to removal for installation reference. Thoroughly clean cylinder head and valves, using care not to damage surfaces. Remove valves. Check valve-to-guide clearance of each valve in its respective valve guide.
  2. Install a valve and hold against seat. Install Valve Stem Clearance Tool (T65T-6505-H) on valve stem, until fully seated. Tighten tool set screw firmly. Allow valve to drop away from seat and tool to contact upper guide surface.
  3. Install dial indicator with pointer against center portion of tool. (Scheme 14) Move clearance tool back and forth in-line with dial indicator pointer. Keep clearance tool on upper guide surface. Record dial indicator reading.
  4. Divide dial indicator reading by 2. This total is the valve-to-guide clearance. If not within specifications, replace valve(s) with next available oversize valve. Ream valve guide until clearance with valve is within specifications. Refer to the «ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) tables at end of this article. (Scheme 14): Checking Valve-to-Guide Clearance NOTE: Always reface valve seat after valve guide has been serviced.
  5. Check valve face for pitting, cracks and runout. Reface or replace valve as necessary. Ensure valve face angle is a true 44 degrees. Ensure proper seat width is achieved. Refer to «ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) tables at end of this article.

Inspect valve springs for cracks or damage. Measure installed height. Install height should be 1.58" (40.1 mm). Measure out-of-square. Maximum out-of-square is .060" (1.52 mm). Check free length. Check spring tension at specified length. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of this article. Replace springs as necessary.

With lifter removed, check bottom surface of lifter. Surface must be convex and smooth. Replace lifter assembly and check camshaft if surface is flat or concaved. Disassemble lifter and clean. Check leak-down rate of lifter with hydraulic tester fluid only. Leak-down should be 20-60 seconds, to travel .125" with 50 lbs. (3.18 mm with 23 kg) load. If not within specifications, replace lifter assembly. Always check camshaft and replace if necessary.

HYDRAULIC LIFTER CLEARANCE

  1. Valve stem-to-rocker arm clearance should meet specifications with lifter totally collapsed. Valve and/or valve seat refacing can diminish clearance and allow valve to be held open.
  2. To determine rocker arm-to-valve stem clearance, attach auxiliary starter switch to staring circuit. With ignition switch in "OFF" position, crank engine until No. 1 piston is on TDC of compression stroke. Completely collapse No. 1 intake valve lifter.
  3. Measure clearance between rocker arm and tip of valve stem, holding lifter in collapsed position. Repeat procedure for No. 1 exhaust, No. 2 exhaust, No. 3 intake, No. 4 exhaust and No. 6 intake.
  4. Rotate crankshaft 360 degrees (one revolution). Repeat procedure for No. 2 intake, No. 3 exhaust, No. 4 intake, No. 5 exhaust, No. 5 intake and No. 6 exhaust. If not within specifications, replace or grind valve stem as necessary. Refer to «COLLAPSED LIFTER CLEARANCE»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) table in this article.

COLLAPSED LIFTER CLEARANCE

  1. Using a feeler gauge and straightedge, check cylinder block head gasket surface for flatness. Surface should be flat within .003" (.08 mm) over 6" surface. Check cylinder bore for wear, taper, out-of-round and piston fit. See «CYLINDER BORE SPECIFICATIONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) table in this article.
  2. Install all main bearing caps and tighten to specifications prior to cylinder bore honing. Use only equal parts of kerosene and SAE 20 motor oil for honing cylinder bores. Use ONLY a spring-loaded type cylinder hone. After honing, allow cylinders to cool. Thoroughly clean bore with detergent and water solution.
  3. Rinse solution from bore thoroughly with clean water. Wipe bore clean with lint free cloth. Lubricate cylinder bores with engine oil. Tap cylinder head bolt threads in cylinder block.

CYLINDER BORE SPECIFICATIONS

OIL PAN

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and remove oil level dipstick. Raise and support vehicle. Remove electrical connector and retainer clip at low oil level sensor (if equipped).
  2. Drain oil from crankcase. Remove starter motor. Disconnect EGO sensor. Remove exhaust pipe assembly and lower engine/flywheel dust cover from converter housing. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and oil pan.

PISTON & ROD ASSEMBLY

Note. The following procedure is with cylinder head, oil pan, oil pump, pick-up tube and baffle removed. Components must be marked, to ensure installation to original position and location.

  1. Ensure pistons and rods are installed in cylinder from which it was removed. Ensure notch on piston top and button on connecting rod faces front of engine. (Scheme 15) Check piston fit before assembling piston on rod. See «FITTING PISTONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u__fitting-pistons) in this article.
  2. Check piston pin fit. If not within specifications, remove pin and measure pin bore in piston and rod. Replace as necessary. If piston pin is to be replaced, replace piston and pin as an assembly. See «ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) tables at end of this article.

FITTING PISTONS

  1. Check piston-to-bore clearance. See «ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) tables at end of this article. Standard size pistons are color coded Red, Blue or Yellow on the piston dome. See «PISTON SIZE CODE»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) table in this article.
  2. If bore diameter is in lower one-third of specifications, use a Red coded piston. If bore diameter is in middle one-third of specifications, use a Blue coded piston. If bore diameter is in upper one-third of specifications, use Yellow coded piston. The Yellow coded piston is .004" (.10 mm) oversize. Use proper size piston to acquire specified clearance.

PISTON SIZE CODES

FITTING RINGS

  1. Select proper rings for bore diameter. Place ring square in cylinder bore, below normal ring wear area. Measure the ring end gap. If ring end gap is less than specifications, remove necessary amount from end of ring. If ring gap is greater than specifications, use a different set of rings. Ensure rings are installed in cylinder bore in which they were measured.
  2. Check side clearance of rings after installing on piston. Ensure clearance is within specifications around entire circumference. If lower lands of piston have high steps, replace piston. Replace piston and rings if side clearance is not within specifications. Properly set ring ends on piston before installing pistons into cylinder. (Scheme 16) Refer to «ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/mechanical/#30l-v6-vin-u) tables at end of this article.

CRANKSHAFT & ROD BEARINGS

Note. Following procedures are with oil pan, oil pump, pick-up tube and baffle removed. Only one bearing at a time should be checked.

MAIN BEARING INSPECTION

Use Plastigage method and check clearance between main bearing and crankshaft journal. Check crankshaft for nicks, scratches, scores and wear. If not within specifications, replace bearings. Machine or replace crankshaft as necessary. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of this article. Check crankshaft end play. Refer to THRUST BEARING ALIGNMENT in this article. Replace thrust bearing as necessary.

CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS INSPECTION

Note. Because 3.0L V6 engine crankshaft incorporates deep rolling of the main journal fillets, journal refinishing is limited to .010" (.25 mm) undersize of standard journal dimensions.

Use Plastigage method and check clearance between rod bearing and crankshaft. If specified clearance cannot be obtained with standard bearings, try a standard bearing in combination with an undersize bearing. Standard bearings may be used with a .001" (.025 mm) or .002" (.050 mm) undersize bearing. Tighten all bolts/nuts to specifications. Desired clearance is minimum specified clearance. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of this article.

THRUST BEARING ALIGNMENT INSPECTION

Install dial indicator on front of engine with pointer on end of crankshaft. Pry crankshaft fully rear and zero indicator. Pry crankshaft fully forward and note reading. If end play exceeds specifications, replace thrust bearing. If end play is less than specifications, remove thrust bearing and inspect surfaces. Replace as necessary. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of this article.

  1. Remove transaxle. On manual transaxle models, remove clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel. See «CLUTCH»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/clutches-manual-hydraulic/#clutches) article in this section. On automatic transaxle models, remove flexplate. See «TRANSMISSION REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - A/T»(/ford/taurus/i-1985-1991/remont/automatic-trans/#removal-installation-at) article.
  2. Use an awl and punch a hole into the metal surface of the seal. Use care not to damage sealing surfaces. Install Jet Plug Remover (T77L-9533-B) and remove oil seal.

Check crankshaft seal surface for wear and replace as necessary. Coat crankshaft seal area and lip of oil seal with engine oil. Using Rear Crankshaft Seal Replacer (T81P-6701-A), install oil seal. Tighten bolts on seal replacer evenly, to ensure seal is installed squarely. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.

FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

ENGINE OILING SYSTEM

The lubrication is a force-feed type. The oil is supplied under full pressure to crankshaft, connecting rods, camshaft bearing and valve lifters. A controlled volume of oil is supplied to rocker arms and push rods. All other moving parts are lubricated by splash or gravity flow.

Crankcase Capacity

Crankcase capacity is 4 quarts (3.79L) without oil filter and 4.5 quarts (4.26L) with oil filter. It is not recommended to change oil without filter.

Normal Oil Pressure (Hot)

Normal oil pressure should be 40-60 psi (2.8-4.2 kg/cm 2 ).

Pressure Regulator Valve

Pressure regulator valve is located in oil pump and is not adjustable.

Removal & Installation

Remove oil pan. Remove oil pump pick-up tube retaining bolt. Remove oil pump retaining bolts. Remove oil pump and pick-up tube assembly. Remove and replace gasket. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts/nuts to specifications.

Remove pick-up tube from oil pump. Remove oil pump cover bolts. Remove oil pump cover and gasket. Check the inner-to-outer rotor clearance, gear backlash, drive shaft-to-housing clearance, gear height clearance, relief valve spring tension and relief valve to bore clearance. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table in this article. Replace components as necessary.

OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS

Drain cooling system. Remove accessory drive belts. Remove idler bracket from engine. Disconnect heater hose at water pump. Remove water pump pulley bolts. Pulley will remain loose on hub due to insufficient clearance. Remove 11 water pump attaching bolts. (Scheme 17) Lift water pump assembly up and out.

Lightly oil bolt and stud threads before installation, except those specifying sealant. (Scheme 17) Apply Contact Adhesive (D7AZ-19B508-A) to new gasket and position on water pump. Install water pump and pulley as an assembly. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts/nuts to specifications. Fill cooling system with Ford Cooling System Fluid (E2FZ-19549-A) only. Check for leakage.
