Accelerator Pedal

Note. 4.0L shown, 3.0L and 2.3L similar.

1. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft.
2. Remove the accelerator pedal pivot bolt and the accelerator pedal. To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the bolts and the accelerator control splash shield. To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever.
3. Depress the tabs and remove the accelerator cable from the intake manifold.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft.
5. Depress the tabs and remove the accelerator cable.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING»(ref-268732) article.
2. Remove the bolts and remove the accelerator control splash shield. To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
3. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever and the bracket.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft.
5. Depress the clips and remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the bolts and remove the accelerator control splash shield. To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever.
3. Depress the tabs and remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator cable bracket.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft.
5. Depress the clips and remove the accelerator cable.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
