Removal & Installation (3.8L)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise vehicle on hoist. Remove engine block ground cable nut and remove ground cable from stud. Remove protective cap from battery cable connection at starter solenoid. Remove positive battery cable-to-starter solenoid nut and disconnect cable. Remove upper and lower starter bolts. Remove starter. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Removal & Installation (4.6L)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise vehicle on hoist. Remove protective cap from battery cable connection at starter solenoid. Disconnect wiring from starter solenoid. Remove upper and lower starter bolts. Remove starter. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
