Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Ford Kuga II

Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

The TP sensor provides a signal to the PCM that is linearly proportional to the throttle plate position. The TP sensor is mounted on the throttle body. As the TP sensor is rotated by the throttle shaft, the following operating conditions are determined by the PCM

Scheme 62

Scheme 62: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor
  1. closed throttle (includes idle or deceleration)
  2. part throttle (includes cruise or moderate acceleration)
  3. wide open throttle (includes maximum acceleration or dechoke on crank)
  4. throttle angle rate
