Scheme 1: PINPOINT TEST A: THE INTERIOR LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE
  1. A1 CHECK THE INTERIOR LAMPS USING THE DIMMER CONTROL SWITCH Operate the interior lamps using the dimmer control switch. Do the interior lamps illuminate? Yes: GO to A2 . No: GO to A3 .
  2. A2 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SIGNAL TO THE SJB Operate the interior lamps by opening and closing each door and the decklid/liftgate individually. Do the interior lamps illuminate using all doors and the decklid/liftgate? Yes: The system is operating correctly at this time. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. No: GO to «PINPOINT TEST F»(ref-255313-S16274756632007053000000) .
  3. A3 CHECK THE FUNCTION OF THE DEMAND LAMPS Key in OFF position. Operate the demand lamps. Do the demand lamps illuminate? Yes: GO to A4 . No: VERIFY the SJB fuse 2 (15A) is OK. If OK, GO to A5 .
  4. A4 CHECK CIRCUIT 53 (BK/LB) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: SJB 2280e. Connect a fused (15A) jumper wire between the SJB C2280e-7, circuit 53 (BK/LB), harness side and the battery positive terminal. Do the interior lamps illuminate? Yes: GO to A5 . No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. A5 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes: INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255282-S31049785852007053000000) . TEST the system for normal operation. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.

Scheme 2: PINPOINT TEST B: THE INTERIOR LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE USING THE DIMMER CONTROL SWITCH

  1. B1 CHECK CIRCUIT 1404 (YE) FOR AN OPEN Key in OFF position. Disconnect: Dimmer Control Switch C2065. Disconnect: SJB C2280d. Measure the resistance between the SJB C2280d-11, circuit 1404 (YE), harness side and the dimmer control switch C2065-5, circuit 1404 (YE), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to B2 . No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

B2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1036 (BN/WH) FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between the SJB C2280d-22, circuit 1036 (BN/WH), harness side and the dimmer control switch C2065-4, circuit 1036 (BN/WH), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: CARRY OUT the dimmer control/interior lamp switch component test. If OK, GO to B3 . No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. B3 CHECK THE DIMMER CONTROL SWITCH Measure the resistance between the dimmer control switch, circuit 1036 (BN/WH), and the dimmer control switch, circuit 1404 (YE), component side. Rotate the dimmer control switch to the interior lamp detent position. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to B4 . No: INSTALL a new dimmer control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. B4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes: INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255282-S31049785852007053000000) . TEST the system for normal operation. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.

  1. D1 CHECK CIRCUIT 2010 (YE/RD) FOR VOLTAGE Key in OFF position. Disconnect: Memory Mirror C516 (LH) or C625 (RH). Disconnect: Non-Memory Mirror C522 (LH) or C622 (RH). Open any door. Measure the voltage between the inoperative puddle lamp connector, circuit 2010 (YE/RD), harness side and ground as follows: VOLTAGE CHECK Description Connector-Pin Circuit With Memory Mirrors LH mirror C516-8 2010 (YE/RD) RH mirror C625-8 2010 (YE/RD) Without Memory Mirrors LH mirror C522-4 2010 (YE/RD) RH mirror C622-4 2010 (YE/RD) Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes: GO to D2 . No: GO to D3 .
  2. D2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1205 (BK) FOR AN OPEN Key in OFF position. Measure the resistance between the inoperative puddle lamp connector, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground as follows: RESISTANCE CHECK Description Connector-Pin Circuit With Memory Mirrors LH mirror C516-15 1205 (BK) RH mirror C625-15 1205 (BK) Without Memory Mirrors LH mirror C522-6 1205 (BK) RH mirror C622-6 1205 (BK) Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: INSTALL a new mirror. TEST the system for normal operation. No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. D3 CHECK CIRCUIT 2010 (YE/RD) FOR AN OPEN Key in OFF position. Disconnect: SJB C2280e. Measure the resistance between the SJB C2280e-12, circuit 2010 (YE/RD) and the inoperative puddle lamp as follows: RESISTANCE CHECK Description Connector-Pin Circuit With Memory Mirrors LH mirror C516-8 2010 (YE/RD) RH mirror C625-8 2010 (YE/RD) Without Memory Mirrors LH mirror C522-4 2010 (YE/RD) RH mirror C622-4 2010 (YE/RD) Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to D4 . No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. D4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes: INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255282-S31049785852007053000000) . Scheme 6: PINPOINT TEST E: THE INTERIOR LAMPS STAY ON CONTINUOUSLY
  1. E1 CHECK THE DOOR, DECKLID AND LIFTGATE AJAR SJB PIDs Key in ON position. Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: SJB Door Ajar PIDs. Close all doors, the decklid or liftgate. Does any door, decklid or liftgate ajar PID read open? Yes: GO to E5 . No: GO to E2 .
  2. E2 CHECK THE DIMMER CONTROL SWITCH Key in OFF position. Disconnect: Dimmer Control Switch C2065. Observe the interior lamps. Are the interior lamps still illuminated? Yes: GO to E3 . No: INSTALL a new dimmer control switch. REFER to . TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. E3 CHECK CIRCUIT 1404 (YE) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Disconnect: SJB C2280d. Measure the resistance between the SJB C2280d-11, circuit 1404 (YE), harness side and ground. Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms? Yes: GO to E4 . No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. E4 CHECK CIRCUIT 53 (BK/LB) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE Disconnect: SJB C2280e. Key in ON position. Observe the interior lamps. Are the interior lamps still illuminated? Yes: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. No: GO to E9 .
  5. E5 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH CIRCUIT Key in OFF position. Disconnect: SJB C2280c. Close the suspect door. Measure the resistance between the suspect door ajar circuit at the SJB connector, harness side and ground as follows: RESISTANCE CHECK Suspect Door Ajar Switch SJB Connector-Pin Circuit LF door C2280c-20 1312 (LG/BK) RF door C2280c-22 1314 (YE/LG) LR door C2280c-7 1742 (VT/LG) RR door C2280c-6 1754 (RD) Liftgate/Decklid C2280c-5 700 (WH/VT) Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to E9 . No: GO to E6 .
  6. E6 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH Disconnect: Suspect Door Ajar Switch. Connect a jumper wire between the suspect door ajar switch connector pins, harness side. Measure the resistance between the SJB connector, harness side and ground as follows: RESISTANCE CHECK Suspect Door Ajar Switch SJB Connector-Pin Circuit LF door C2280c-20 1312 (LG/BK) RF door C2280c-22 1314 (YE/LG) LR door C2280c-7 1742 (VT/LG) RR door C2280c-6 1754 (RD) Liftgate/Decklid C2280c-5 700 (WH/VT) Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: INSTALL a new door ajar switch. REFER to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255280-S11862493322007053000000) or «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255280-S12043657692007053000000) . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. No: REMOVE the jumper wire. GO to E7 .

E7 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between the SJB, harness side and the suspect door ajar switch, harness side as follows: RESISTANCE CHECK Suspect Door Ajar Switch SJB Connector-Pin Door Ajar Switch Connector-Pin Circuit LF door C2280c-20 C526-2 1312 (LG/BK) RF door C2280c-22 C602-2 1314 (YE/LG) LR door C2280c-7 C715-2 1742 (VT/LG) RR door C2280c-6 C820-2 1754 (RD) Liftgate (Freestyle) C2280c-5 C479-C 700 (WH/VT) Decklid (Five Hundred) C2280c-5 C4302-1 700 (WH/VT) Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to E8 . No: REPAIR the door ajar switch circuit in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  8. E8 CHECK CIRCUIT 1205 (BK) FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between the suspect door ajar switch, harness side and ground as follows: RESISTANCE CHECK Suspect Door Ajar Switch Connector-Pin Circuit LF door C526-1 1205 (BK) RF door C602-1 1205 (BK) LR door C715-1 1205 (BK) RR door C820-1 1205 (BK) Liftgate (Freestyle) C479-B 1205 (BK) Decklid (Five Hundred) C4302-3 1205 (BK) Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes: GO to E9 . No: REPAIR the door ajar ground circuit in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  9. E9 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes: INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255282-S31049785852007053000000) . TEST the system for normal operation. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

Scheme 7: PINPOINT TEST G: THE DEMAND LIGHTING/BATTERY SAVER IS INOPERATIVE
  1. G1 CHECK CIRCUIT 705 (LG/OG) FOR AN OPEN Key in OFF position. Disconnect: SJB C2280e. Connect a fused (15A) jumper wire between the SJB C2280e-16, circuit 705 (LG/OG), harness side and the battery positive terminal. Do the demand lamps operate with the jumper wire connected? Yes: VERIFY the SJB fuse 2 (15A) is OK. If OK, GO to G2 . No: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. G2 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes: INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255282-S31049785852007053000000) . TEST the system for normal operation. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
