Removal and Installation

1. Remove the instrument panel center finish panel. For additional information, refer to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255306-S25004715062007053000000) .
2. Remove the parking aid switch.
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the package tray trim panel. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-255300) .
2. Remove the LH C-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255300-S26302168462007053000000) FIVE HUNDRED, MONTEGO or «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255300-S03212190282007053000000) FREESTYLE .
3. If replacing the parking aid speaker only, proceed as follows: Disconnect the parking aid speaker electrical connector. Disengage the parking aid speaker clips. Remove the parking aid speaker.
4. If replacing the parking aid module, proceed as follows: Disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the parking aid module push pins. Remove the parking aid module.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-255244) .
3. Disconnect the parking aid sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the parking aid sensor(s).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Paint the sensor(s) with one coat of paint (basecoat and clear coat). Using the diagnostic tool, verify that the parking aid sensor PIDs read no object present, and that the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs read between 0.8 - 1.6 ms. If the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs do not read between 0.8 - 1.6 ms, the paint is too thick on the sensor(s) and it will be necessary to repaint the sensor(s) as required.
