Removal

WARNINGBefore beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to Safety Warnings in SERVICE INFORMATION General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Note. Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions ( «HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS»(ref-515929-S17418754162012120400000) ). Refer to: «Engine Ignition - Component Location»(ref-515981-S14020531102012120400000) .
  2. If equipped, remove the engine cover.
  3. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the 4 ignition coil-on-plug bolts. Torque : 10 Nm
  5. Remove the 4 ignition coil-on-plugs. Material : Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound / XG-3-A (ESE-M1C171-A)

Installation

  1. To install, slide the new ignition coil-on-plug boot onto the ignition coil until it is fully seated at the top of the ignition coil-on-plug.
  2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  3. Torque : 15 Nm
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
