Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Disconnect the coolant hoses and detach the thermostat housing.
3. Remove the thermostat.
4. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

2. Install the thermostat housing and reconnect the coolant hoses.

2. Remove the ignition coil cover. Detach the retaining clips. Detach the coolant pipe from the retaining clip.
3. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.
4. Remove the thermostat cover retaining bolts.
5. Remove the thermostat.
6. Remove and discard the thermostat O-ring seal.

4. Detach the thermostat housing. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector. Detach the thermostat housing.
5. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
6. Remove the thermostat housing.
7. Remove the ECT sensor.
8. Remove the thermostat.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

3. Loosen the water pump pulley retaining bolts.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to «SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING»(ref-139103) .
5. Remove the water pump pulley.
6. Detach the water pump from the water pump housing.
7. Rotate the water pump 180° within the water pump housing and remove it. Discard the sealing ring

3. Remove the timing belt tensioner.
4. Disconnect the coolant hoses.
5. Disconnect the coolant hose.
6. Remove the water pump.
7. Remove and discard the water pump gasket.

2. Detach the wiring harness retaining clip from the cooling fan shroud.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Detach and support the air conditioning condenser.
5. Using the special tool, disconnect the radiator upper hose (cooling fan motor and shroud shown removed for clarity).
6. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hoses (cooling fan motor and shroud shown removed for clarity).
7. Detach the wiring harness retaining clips from the cooling fan shroud.
8. Detach the wiring harness retaining clip from the radiator support bracket.
9. Disconnect the horn(s) electrical connector.
10. Remove the radiator support bracket bolts.
11. Remove the radiator support bracket.
12. Remove the radiator and cooling fan motor and shroud.
13. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud from the radiator. Release the retaining clips. Slide the cooling fan motor and shroud from the radiator.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connectors.
3. Remove the two pin-type retainers.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
5. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. Release the top clips of the radiator to allow the cooling fan motor and shroud to be raised. Remove the fan and shroud.

2. Disconnect the coolant hoses.
3. Remove the coolant expansion tank retaining bolt.
4. Remove the coolant expansion tank. Lift the coolant expansion tank out of the retainer.
