Parking Aid System: Removal & Installation Ford Explorer V

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Download the PAM configuration information from the scan tool to the new PAM by following the instructions on the scan tool.

1. Remove the rear bumper cover. REFER to «BUMPER COVER - REAR»(ref-517604-S41186539882012121200000) .
2. Release the retaining tabs and remove the parking aid sensor(s). Disconnect the electrical connector(s).

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. REFER to «LIFTGATE TRIM PANEL»(ref-517611-S15636657292012121200000) .
2. NOTE: LH side shown in illustration, RH side similar. Open the rear liftgate and remove the LH and RH liftgate body moulding nuts. To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
3. Remove the 4 liftgate body moulding bolts and remove the liftgate body moulding. Disconnect the electrical connector. To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
4. Remove the rear video camera screw and retainer, remove the rear video camera. Disconnect the electrical connector.

1. NOTE: The rear video camera guidelines will not display if the rear video camera is not configured. Carry out the video camera configuration using a scan tool under Body > RVC Configuration.
2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the steering column cover trim panel. Pull outward to release the retainers. To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
2. Remove the 4 bolts and remove steering column cover assembly. To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
3. Remove the 2 bolts, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the parking aid speaker.
