Before performing any on-vehicle adjustments to fuel or ignition systems, ensure engine mechanical condition is okay.
VALVE CLEARANCE
Note. Valve cover(s) must be removed before performing valve adjustment. See 2.0L article in the ENGINES section for removal and installation procedures.
IGNITION TIMING
Note. Ignition timing is not adjustable on 2.0L models.

BASE IGNITION TIMING
THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR
TP sensor is not adjustable. Ensure TP sensor is properly installed. See THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR under FUEL SYSTEM in REMOVE/INSTALL/OVERHAUL article. If additional test procedures are required, see TESTS W/CODES article.
