FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS
Raise vehicle. Remove front wheel, brake caliper and rotor. Position a dial indicator to wheel hub. Push and pull wheel hub by hand in axial direction, and measure wheel bearing play. If wheel bearing play exceeds .002" (.05 mm), check and adjust bearing lock nut torque. If necessary, replace bearing.

Raise and support vehicle. Grasp tire by top and bottom edges. Move wheel assembly in and out. Any movement between wheel spindle and control arm indicates ball joint wear. If necessary, replace ball joint.
