GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

The parking aid system consists of

  1. Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper cover)
  2. Parking Aid Module (PAM) and parking aid speaker (both located behind the LR quarter trim panel)
  3. Parking aid disable feature (integral to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) message center)

The parking aid system calculates the distance to an object around the rear of the vehicle using 4 ultrasonic sensors. The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when reverse is selected.

The rear sensors are activated when reverse is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves slowly in reverse at speeds of less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). The parking aid system may not detect moving objects.
