REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| WARNING | Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation involving steering column components. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy. |
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove wiper arms. Remove cowl top vent panel. Disconnect wiring from wiper motor. Remove motor drive arm retaining clip. Remove motor. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten mounting bolts to 60-85 INCH lbs. (6.8-9.6 N.m).
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering column shroud. Remove retaining screws and multifunction switch. Disconnect electrical connector. Remove switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Using a small screwdriver, release connector. Remove hose. Drain reservoir. Remove pump retaining screws. Remove reservoir retaining screws. To install, reverse removal procedure. Fill reservoir before making electrical connections.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove lower dash trim panel (if necessary). Disconnect connector. Remove module. To install, reverse removal procedure.
