TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
The braking system on the E-Series vehicle consists of the following components
- An electronic hydraulic control unit (HCU)
- Vacuum booster power booster (E-150 to E-350)
- A Hydro-Boost® power booster (E -450 only)
- Master cylinder
- Front brake discs
- Rear brake discs
- Parking brakes
- 4 wheel anti-lock brake system (4WABS)
The significant features of the brake system are as follows
- All vehicles are equipped with rear disc brakes. For additional information, refer to «DISC & DRUM»(ref-161514) .
- All vehicles have front disc brakes. For additional information, refer to «DISC & DRUM»(ref-161514) .
- The parking brake is foot-operated and, on the E-150, E-250 and E-350, uses a drum-in-hat brake system. The E-450 is equipped with a transmission-mounted parking brake. For additional information, refer to «DISC & DRUM»(ref-161514) .
- The brake hydraulic system is split front and rear at the brake master cylinder. For additional information on the brake hydraulic system, refer to «DISC & DRUM»(ref-161514) .
- The brake power assist is vacuum-operated on the E-150, E-250 and E-350. The E-450 is equipped with a Hydro-Boost® power brake booster powered by the power steering pump. For additional information, refer to «DISC & DRUM»(ref-161514) .
- All vehicles are equipped with a 4-wheel anti-lock brake system (4WABS). For additional information, refer to «ANTI-LOCK CONTROL»(ref-210121) .
