| CAUTION | Do not stand in line with or near radiator fan when engine is running until fan has been checked for damage or loose parts. Never repair fan if damaged. Fan must be replaced as an assembly. |
THERMOSTAT
Two thermostats are available which are distinguished by temperature markings at the bottom of the thermostat cup. Thermostat begins opening at 192°F (89°C), and is fully opened at 212°F (100°C), or begins opening at 197°F (92°C), and fully opens at 221°F (105°C).
PRESSURE CAP
All models use 13 psi (.9 kg/cm 2 ) pressure cap which should be tested at 10-14 psi (.7-1.0 kg/cm 2 ).
WATER PUMP
If wear or damage exists, water pump unit replacement is recommended. Do not attempt to overhaul or repair pump.
MAINTENANCE
Vehicle maintenance schedule is on glovebox and Emission Control Information Decal. Check coolant condition annually. Drain, clean, flush and refill system if dirt or rust impairs cooling ability. Hoses and clamps should be inspected every 3 years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
