The fuel system consists of

  3. a standard fuel tank on FHEV vehicles.
  4. a reinforced fuel tank on PHEV vehicles. (Not interchangeable with FHEV standard fuel tank)
  5. fuel, vapor and brake tubes in an integrated bundle assembly attached to the underside of the vehicle by retaining clips.
  6. a FTP sensor (part of the fuel vapor tube assembly).
  7. a lifetime fuel filter (serviced as part of the FP module).
  8. a FP module that supplies fuel under pressure to the high pressure FP.
  9. a serviceable fuel level sender mounted on the FP module.
  10. an Easy Fuel™ fuel tank filler pipe assembly, which cannot be modified in any way and is serviced only by the installation of a new fuel tank filler pipe assembly.
  11. a supplemental refueling adapter located in the spare tire compartment.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Under normal operation, fuel should flow at a steady rate through the fuel tank filler pipe into the fuel tank. As fuel enters the fuel tank air is vented through the filler pipe or the ORVR system.
