DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
Note. Unless otherwise specified, all references include the F350 Super Duty commercial chassis.
Windshield wipers are operated by a permanent magnet motor. Interval wipers are available on all vehicles. On interval systems, low and high speed wiper operation is the same as standard wiper system. When wiper control switch is in interval (INT) position, wipers make single sweeps, separated by driver-adjustable pauses.
AIR BAG SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
- Turn ignition to RUN. Visually monitor the air bag indicator. Air bag indicator will light continuously for approximately six seconds and then turn off.
- If a system fault is present, the indicator will either fail to light, remain lit continuously, or light in a flashing manner. The flashing may not occur for approximately 30 seconds after ignition has been turned on. this is the time required for the air bag diagnostic monitor to complete testing of the system.
- If the air bag indicator is inoperative and a system fault exists, a tone will sound in a pattern of five sets of five beeps. If this occurs, the air bag indicator will need to be serviced before further diagnosis can be done.
