DESCRIPTION
Ford lumbar support power seat adjustment is controlled by a switch located on the inboard side of the driver's seat. The system consists of an electrically operated compressor, a lumbar support pad, control switch and necessary wiring. The lumbar support pad and compressor are located in seat assembly.

Note. Testing procedure not available from manufacturer.
Removal & Installation
- Remove 4 seat track-to-floorpan screws and remove seat and track assembly from vehicle. Position seat upside down on a clean bench to remove seat tracks.
- Disconnect latch tie rod assembly and assist spring from tracks. Remove 4 track-to-seat cushion screws from track assembly and remove tracks from seat cushion. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Remove seat and track assembly. Remove front seat trim cushion as necessary to gain access to compressor mounting screws. Remove mounting screws. Disconnect hose and electrical connector and remove compressor. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Remove seat and track assembly as previously outlined. Remove lumbar support switch bezel by carefully prying lower portion of bezel away from switch housing. Pull out and downward. Remove screws attaching switch to seat frame. Disconnect electrical connector and remove switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.
- Remove seat and track assembly as previously outlined. Disconnect lumbar support hose from lower portion of seat back. Remove seat back latch cover and remove screws attaching seat back to cushion. Remove armrest (if equipped). Unzip trim cover at bottom of seat back.
- Remove moldings from seat back (if equipped). Cut hog rings from seat back trim cover and/or disengage plastic retainers from seat back frame. Remove trim cover. Disconnect hose from lumbar support pad. Using a screwdriver, bend lumbar support pad retaining tabs upward and remove pad. To install, reverse removal procedure.
