CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT
CHECK ENGINE warning light indicates malfunctions in electronic engine control system. If functioning correctly, light comes on when ignition switch is turned to ON position and goes out after engine has started. If light does not come on as described or remains on with engine running, a service need is indicated.
OIL PRESSURE LIGHT
Light should come on briefly and goes out after engine has started. If light remains on with engine running, oil pressure is low. Turn off engine, and check oil level.
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE (OPTIONAL)
Under normal operating conditions, gauge should be in the Normal range. If gauge drops below Normal range, turn off engine, and check oil level.

BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
When functioning properly, BRAKE warning light comes on when ignition switch is placed mid-way between ON and START positions. Light also comes on when parking brake is applied and ignition is on.
If failure exists in either half of the dual brake system, BRAKE warning light will glow when brake pedal is depressed. Check and service system immediately. Dual brake system provides back-up braking when there is failure in portion of the hydraulic system. BRAKE warning light will remain on until the problem has been corrected.
BATTERY VOLTAGE GAUGE
Gauge should be in Normal range during vehicle operation. If gauge falls below Normal range normal vehicle operation, service electrical system.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE
Gauge should be in Normal range during normal vehicle operation. If gauge rises into Hot range, stop vehicle, and turn off engine. Allow engine to cool, and check coolant level.
EMISSION MAINTENANCE LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
This light indicates that emission system is due for maintenance service. Light monitors the following areas: EGR system, PCV valve, oxygen sensor, delay valves, vacuum-controlled orifices, tank vapor valve and bi-level purge check valves. When light comes on during normal vehicle operation, have emission system serviced as soon as possible.
