- Caster and camber are controlled by upper control arm pivot bar. Bar is bolted to frame mounted bracket through slotted holes.
- Alignment is made by installing adjusting tool (C-4581), and loosening one bolt at a time and prying pivot bar into position. Make alignment adjustment for camber by moving both ends of pivot bar in or out in exactly equal amounts. (Scheme 1): Camber & Caster Adjustment ("B" Series RWD Vans) To adjust camber, move pivot bar ends equal amounts.
- Adjustment for caster is made by moving each end of bar in exactly equal amounts in opposite directions. Increase positive caster by moving front of pivot bar away from engine and rear of bar toward engine an equal amount. Tighten retaining bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(/dodge/ram-van-b2500/b-pre-1995-1995/remont/wheel-alignment/#wheel-alignment-specifications-procedures__torque-specifications).
Note. Caster should be held as nearly equal as possible on both wheels.
TOE ADJUSTMENT
Note. On vehicles equipped with power steering, set wheel toe position with engine running.
Center steering wheel and hold with steering wheel clamp. Loosen tie rod adjustment sleeve clamp bolts. Rotate adjustment sleeve to align toe to specifications. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS . Position sleeve clamps on underside of sleeve so that clamp ends are not over sleeve slot. Tighten adjustment sleeve clamp bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Remove steering wheel clamp.
