DESCRIPTION
| WARNING | Vehicle is equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. When servicing vehicle, use care to avoid accidental air bag deployment. SIR system-related components are located in various locations throughout interior and exterior of vehicle, depending on application. Do not use electrical test equipment on or near these circuits. If necessary, deactivate SIR system before servicing components. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS. |
Heater plenum housing is divided into two sides. On the left side, is the air distribution module. Air distribution module contains heater core and doors used to control airflow. On the right side, is the blower module.
Blower motor draws outside air into vehicle cabin through cowl opening at base of windshield. The air goes through chamber above heater plenum housing. Temperature control door in plenum chamber directs incoming air to go either through or past heater core.
Airflow can be directed from panel, floor and defrost outlets using mode selector. Airflow velocity can be adjusted with blower speed selector switch on instrument panel.
