DESCRIPTION
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system allows vehicle doors to be locked or unlocked using a hand-held transmitter. Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module can receive a signal from up to 2 transmitters. Each transmitter has its own code. The code is programmed into the RKE module memory.
OPERATION
Pressing UNLOCK button once unlocks driver's door and enables illuminated entry. Pressing UNLOCK button twice within 5 seconds unlocks all doors. When LOCK button is pressed, horn will sound (chirp), signaling that "lock all doors" signal was received and set. Illuminated entry operation is canceled and all interior lights will fade out.
Panic button on transmitter (remote control) will activate vehicle anti-theft system for approximately 3 minutes when pressed. Alarm can be terminated if PANIC button on remote control is pressed or ignition is turned on.
RKE module retains Vehicle Access Codes (VAC) even when battery power is lost. Keyless entry module must have at least one, but no more than 2 transmitters. Transmitter control range is within approximately 23 ft. (7 m) of BCM. Transmitter is powered with 3-volt battery.
