PROGRAMMING TRANSMITTER

Note. To program new RKE transmitter using following procedure, at least one transmitter must be already programmed. If all transmitters are lost, a scan tool must be used to program new transmitters. Place gear selector in PARK. Turn ignition on. Using a previously programmed transmitter, press UNLOCK button on transmitter for minimum of 4 seconds, and while still holding UNLOCK button, press PANIC button also. Release both buttons within 10 seconds total depressed time. BCM will chime. Press any button on each additional transmitter to be programmed. BCM will chime as each button is learned. To exit program mode, turn ignition off, or wait 32 seconds. BCM will chime again.
Once transmitters have been programmed, horn chirp can be enabled/disabled by sending horn chirp toggle operation code to BCM. Enable procedure can be performed using scan tool, or by performing procedure in PROGRAMMING HORN ENABLE/DISABLE .
PROGRAMMING HORN ENABLE/DISABLE
Turn ignition on. Press LOCK button on transmitter for at least 4 seconds and, while holding LOCK button, press UNLOCK button. Release both buttons within 10 seconds.
PROGRAMMING TRUNK RELEASE
To switch between single or double push to open trunk, turn ignition on. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter for minimum of 4 seconds and, while holding UNLOCK button, press TRUNK button also. Release both buttons within 10 seconds.
JUNCTION BLOCK
Disconnect battery. Remove driver's side instrument panel end cover. (Scheme 13) Remove lower instrument panel cover screws, trunk release switch wiring and lower instrument panel cover. Disconnect junction block/BCM wiring connectors. Remove 4 junction block/BCM mounting screws. Remove junction block/BCM. To install, reverse removal procedure.

TRANSMITTER BATTERIES
| CAUTION | Avoid touching new batteries with fingers. Skin oils may cause battery deterioration. Clean batteries with rubbing alcohol if touched with fingers. |
Using care not to damage rubber gasket between transmitter halves, use a coin or similar object to pry transmitter halves apart. Wearing gloves, remove and replace batteries. Reassemble transmitter case by snapping halves together. Test transmitter operation.
