- Position engine and transmission assembly under vehicle. Slowly lower the vehicle down over the engine and transmission. It is necessary to move the engine/transmission assembly with the dolly for clearance around body flanges.
- Align engine and transmission mounts to attaching points. Install mounting bolts at the right engine mount (Схема №18) and left transmission mount (Схема №19)
- Remove the safety straps from around engine.
- Slowly raise vehicle enough to remove the engine dolly and cradle Special Tools 6135, 6710, 6848 and 6909 (Схема №17)
- Remove Special Tools 6912 and 8444 (Схема №14)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install power steering pump and pressure line support.
- Install the generator and wiring harness.
- Raise vehicle.
- Attach wiring harness support clip to the engine oil dipstick tube.
- Connect oil pressure switch electrical connector.
- Install the A/C compressor.
- Install the water pump pulley.
- Connect the radiator lower hose.
- Install the accessory drive belt and splash shield.
- Connect the engine block heater electrical connector (if equipped).
- Connect the knock sensor electrical connector (3.8L only).
- Install the torque converter to flex plate bolts.
- Install the transaxle case cover (Схема №13)
- Install the powertrain struts (Схема №13)
- Install the engine rear mount bracket.
- Install the engine front mount and bracket assembly.
- AWD equipped; Install the power transfer unit (PTU).
- Install the axle shafts.
- Connect exhaust pipe to manifold (Схема №12)
- Install crossmember cradle plate (Схема №11)
- Lower vehicle.
- Connect transaxle shift linkage.
- Connect transaxle electrical connectors.
- Remove plugs from transmission cooler hoses and install transaxle oil cooler line service splice kit. Refer to instructions included with kit.
- Install transaxle dipstick tube and attach electrical harness clip.
- Connect the A/C lines to compressor.
- Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
- Evacuate and recharge A/C system.
- Connect crankshaft and camshaft position sensors.
- Connect the fuel injector electrical harness connector and engage clip to support bracket.
- Connect engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and ignition coil electrical connectors.
- Connect the ground strap to rear of cylinder head.
- Install power steering reservoir.
- Engage wire harness clip to engine right side mount.
- Connect the brake booster and speed control vacuum hoses.
- Connect the vacuum hoses to the throttle body.
- Connect the EGR transducer electrical connector (if equipped).
- Connect the TPS, IAC, and MAP sensor electrical connectors.
- Connect throttle cables to throttle body.
- Install the radiator fans (Refer to «RADIATOR FAN»(ref-338220-S32263213862009081800000) for 2002 or «RADIATOR FAN»(ref-189883-S33932952342005091600000) for 2003).
- Connect the radiator upper hose.
- Connect the heater hoses. Remove pinch-off pliers from the rear heater hoses (if equipped).
- Install the radiator upper support crossmember.
- Install the wiper module (Refer to «WIPER MODULE»(ref-160210-S31959490892004020400000) for 2002 or «WIPER MODULE»(ref-189919-S35555131022005091600000) for 2003).
- Connect the fuel line to fuel rail (Refer to «FUEL SYSTEMS»(ref-98966-S35456582962001060700000) for 2002 or «FUEL SYSTEMS»(ref-155641-S20792150122003061900000) for 2003).
- Install the air cleaner and hoses.
- Install new oil filter. Fill engine crankcase with proper oil to correct level.
- Connect negative cable to battery.
- Fill the cooling system.
- Start engine and run until operating temperature is reached.
- Adjust transmission linkage, if necessary.
