- Make sure ignition switch is in OFF position and all accessories are turned OFF.
- Remove the rear compartment floor, trim panel to gain access to the battery.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable (2) from the battery terminal.
- Disconnect the battery positive cable (1) from the battery terminal.
- Unlatch the battery retention strap (4). CAUTION: Use care when disconnecting the battery vent tube from the battery. The vent tube nipple is made of plastic and is easily damaged if not disconnected properly.
- Gently disconnect the battery vent tube from the battery nipple.
- Remove the battery hold down clamp and remove the battery from the vehicle.

- Position the battery in the battery tray.
- Install the battery hold down clamp and bolt. Torque the bolt to 4 N.m (35 in. lbs.). CAUTION: Use care when connecting the battery vent tube to the battery. The vent tube nipple is made of plastic and is easily damaged if not connected properly.
- Gently connect the battery vent tube to the battery nipple.
- Latch the battery retention strap (4).
- Connect the battery positive cable (1).
- Connect the battery negative cable (2). Follow the battery reconnection procedure. See «Electrical - Engine Systems/Battery System - Standard Procedure»(ref-353996-S00099707922010011300000) .
- Install the rear compartment floor trim panel.
- Verify that the ignition switch and all accessories are OFF.
- Remove the rear compartment floor, trim panel to gain access to the battery.
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the bolt from the battery holddown and remove the holddown.
- Install the battery holddown clamp and bolt. Tighten the bolt to 4 N.m (35 in. lbs.).
- Connect the battery negative cable. Follow the battery reconnection procedure. See «Electrical - Engine Systems/Battery System - Standard Procedure»(ref-353996-S00099707922010011300000)
- Install the rear compartment floor trim panel.

- Remove the battery. See «Electrical - Engine Systems/Battery System/BATTERY - Removal»(ref-353996-S34942732592010011300000) .
- Using a small flat bladed tool, gently release the two mounting tabs that secure the Power Distribution Center (PDC) to the battery tray. Position the PDC aside.
- Remove the battery tray mounting fasteners and remove the battery tray from the vehicle.
- Position the battery tray in the vehicle and install the mounting fasteners.
- Position the Power Distribution Center (PDC) onto the battery tray mounting tabs. Gently apply downward pressure on the PDC until it snaps into place.
