Removal

  1. The Fixed Orifice Tube (FOT) is located in condenser to evaporator liquid refrigerant line near condenser. Disconnect negative battery cable. Discharge A/C system using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. Using Spring Lock Coupling Clamp Kit (81320-960), disconnect liquid line at condenser and at evaporator.
  2. Remove liquid line and insert Orifice Tube Remover/Installer (MS-1979) into line. Rotate orifice tube remover/installer clockwise to engage tabs of orifice tube. Pull orifice tube from line. Flush line thoroughly.

Installation

  1. Position new orifice tube tabs on orifice tube remover/installer. Lubricate orifice tube with clean refrigerant oil and install in liquid line until orifice tube contacts indentations in the line.
  2. Release orifice tube remover/installer and remove. Install line using new "O" rings lubricated with refrigerant oil. Recharge system and test system for proper operation.
