Starting - Service Information: Removal & Installation Dodge Avenger II facelift

INSTALLATION

Note. Make sure the remote start antenna is positioned the same way noted during the removal procedure.

1. Install the remote start antenna (2) and screws (1) to instrument panel assembly. Tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 in. lbs.).
2. Route the remote start coaxial cable in the position noted during the removal procedure.
3. Install the coaxial cable mounting clip at the steering column reinforcement bracket.
4. Install the mounting clip (2).
5. Connect remote start antenna coaxial cable connector (1) to skreem module (3).
6. Install instrument cluster. Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-485497-S05525225322012071300000) .
7. Install radio. Refer to «RADIO, INSTALLATION»(ref-485490-S02199053422012071300000) .
8. Install the instrument panel top pad. Refer to «PAD, INSTRUMENT PANEL, INSTALLATION»(ref-485483-S23106404972012071300000) .
9. Connect negative battery cable. Tighten to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.)

1. Remove air cleaner box and air tube.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable
3. Remove starter motor mounting bolt.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector at throttle body.
5. Remove throttle body bolts and remove throttle body.
6. Push starter under intake manifold.
7. Tip starter nose toward cooling module.
8. Pull starter up and out.
9. Disconnect starter motor wiring.
10. Remove starter motor from vehicle.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485472-S37758686622012071300000) .
3. Remove the catalytic converter (3). Refer to «CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL»(ref-485503-S35989529052012071300000) .
4. Remove the front engine mount through bolt.
5. Remove the bolts (2) from the front engine mount bracket (1) and remove the bracket.
6. Disconnect the starter solenoid electrical connector (1) from the starter solenoid terminal.
7. Remove the battery cable nut and battery cable from the solenoid stud (2).
8. Remove the starter mounting bolts (4).
9. Remove the starter assembly (3) from the transmission.

Scheme 15

1. Connect starter motor wiring. Tighten battery cable nut to 10 N.m (90 in. lbs.).
2. Install starter motor into vehicle lower engine compartment.
3. Loose install starter into position.
4. Install throttle body
5. Install throttle body bracket.
6. Install starter motor mounting bolts and tighten to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.).
7. Connect throttle body electrical connector.
8. Install air cleaner box and inlet tube.
9. Connect battery negative cable.
