GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
- Start and idle engine. Depress clutch pedal. Ensure transaxle shifts into each gear without resistance or binding. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Place shift lever in "N" position. Raise and support vehicle. Loosen rod clamp bolt. (Scheme 1)
- Remove adjustment hole plug from shift lever cover. Turn gearshift rod and insert a 5 mm gauge pin into adjustment hole. Pull back shift lever boot. Position shift lever close to left side of neutral position. Insert a 5-mm gauge pin into hole to align shift lever with shift lever housing. (Scheme 2) Tighten clamp rod bolt.
