Preliminary operations
Remove
- The scuttle grille
- The rain/sunlight bi-sensor (according to equipment)
- The multifunction video camera (according to equipment)
- The interior mirror
- Screen pillar trim panels
Removing
Unclip the windscreen pillar finisher (1) tabs from the clips (as "a"); using tool [1350-ZZ]
Remove the windscreen pillar trims (1)
NoteIf the windscreen (2) is to be reused, position pieces of adhesive tape (3) as shown above and cut them (at "b")
Pass the awl [1354-C] through the bead of adhesive, from the inside towards the outside
Thread the cutting wire [1354-E] into the awl [1354-C] and pass it towards the inside
Leave sufficient length for it to be attached on the winding device [1354-AZ]
Pass the cutting wire [1354-E] under the seal of the windscreen (in the direction "c") all around the windscreen; using soapy water
Fix the end of the cutting wire [1354-E] to the fixing at "d"
Put the winding device [1354-AZ] in place as indicated on the diagram
Fix the end of the cutting wire [1354-E] in the winding device [1354-AZ]
WarningUse the protectors [1375] to protect the cutting zones
NoteAt the least resistance of the cutting wire [1354-E] during cutting, de-tension it and help it to pass the obstacle (support shims, extra-thick adhesive bead, or panel junctions)
Transpose the reeling mechanism [1354-AZ]; continue the cutting
WarningUse the protectors [1375] to protect the cutting zones
Transpose the reeling mechanism [1354-AZ]; continue the cutting
Remove the roof console
Disconnect the connector (at "e")
Attach the connector on the windscreen; using adhesive tape
Assist the cutting wire [1354-E] in passing the obstacle (at "f")
Transpose the reeling mechanism [1354-AZ]
Remove the windscreen (2); using the double hinged suction cups [KIT1-VENT]
Refitting
Preparation: flange - windscreen
Fit the electric cutter [FEIN-400E] with blade N°146
Level off the adhesive beads both on the windscreen (2) and the flange
NoteIf the windscreen (2) is to be replaced, align it and position pieces of adhesive tape (4) as shown above, then cut them (at "g")
Remove the windscreen (2); using the double hinged suction cups [KIT1-VENT]
Touch up with anti-corrosion product
Degrease the flange using the degreaser provided in the bonding kit
Allow to dry for 10 mn
Applying the adhesive
Fit the shims (5)
Cut the nozzle to "A" = 8 mm dia. at "B" = 13 mm from the tip
1er cases: reusing the windscreen
- There is no need to apply primer
- Remove any impurities on the shaved seal; using a blow gun
2nd case: this method applies in the case of a new windscreen
- Degrease the surround of the glass with the products chosen from the bonding kit
- The window is supplied pre-coated with primer
- Further primer must be applied following the line of the primer applied during manufacture; allow to dry for 10 mn
WarningNo more than 8 minutes must elapse between applying the mastic and positioning the glass (for the quick setting bonding mastics)
Apply the bead of adhesive at the centre of the line of primer (at "h")
Reused windscreen: position the windscreen (2) in relation to the adhesive strips (3)
New windscreen: position the windscreen in relation to the adhesive strips (4)
Exert a constant pressure; using the wire suction cups [KIT2-VENT]
Check the fits and clearances
Allow to cure for 30 minutes before handling
Check the sealing of the windscreen
Proceed in the reverse order to removal
Check the operation of the different equipment
Clean the windscreen (2) and its surround
