Removal Procedure

1. Remove the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to «Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Buick)»(ref-277716-S07386805462008011800000) or «Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (GMC)»(ref-277716-S39806534822008011800000) or «Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (Chevrolet)»(ref-277716-S34421666412008011800000) or «Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (GMC, Buick)»(ref-277716-S36923603112008011800000) .
2. Remove the HVAC control module screws.
3. Depress the HVAC control module tabs (3) and remove the HVAC control module (2) from the I/P (4).
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the HVAC control module (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the HVAC control module (2).
2. Install the HVAC control module (2) into the I/P (4).
3. Install the HVAC control module screws. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
4. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to «Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Buick)»(ref-277716-S07386805462008011800000) or «Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (GMC)»(ref-277716-S39806534822008011800000) or «Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (Chevrolet)»(ref-277716-S34421666412008011800000) or «Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (GMC, Buick)»(ref-277716-S36923603112008011800000) .

1. Using a flat bladed tool, carefully pry out on the top of the HVAC control-auxiliary.
2. Remove the HVAC control-auxiliary from the center console/seat.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the HVAC control-auxiliary.

1. Connect the HVAC control-auxiliary electrical connector.
2. Install the HVAC control-auxiliary in the console bottom first.
3. Push in at the top of the HVAC control-auxiliary in order to engage the HVAC control-auxiliary in the console/seat.

1. Remove the right closeout panel. Refer to «Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side»(ref-277716-S40232166422008011800000) .
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the blower motor control processor (1).
4. Remove the blower motor control processor mounting screws (2).
5. Remove the blower motor control processor (1).

1. Install the blower motor control processor (1).
2. Install the blower motor control processor mounting screws (2). Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
3. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the blower motor control processor (1).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor.
5. Install the right closeout panel. Refer to «Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side»(ref-277716-S40232166422008011800000) .

1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Refer to «HVAC Module Assembly Replacement»(ref-277731-S23283516292008011800000) .
2. Remove the screws from the air inlet assembly.
3. Remove the air inlet assembly.
4. Disconnect the recirculation actuator electrical connector
5. Remove the recirculation actuator screws.
6. Remove the recirculation actuator.

1. Install the recirculation actuator.
2. Install the air inlet assembly.
3. Install the recirculation actuator screws. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
4. Connect the recirculation actuator electrical connector.
5. Install the HVAC module assembly. Refer to «HVAC Module Assembly Replacement»(ref-277731-S23283516292008011800000) .
6. Recalibrate the recirculation actuator on vehicles equipped with automatic climate control (C68). Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-277730-S28976763112008011800000) .

1. Remove the left side sound insulator screws.
2. Remove the left hand floor duct. Refer to «Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side»(ref-277731-S25144329692008011800000) .
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the mode actuator.
4. Remove the screws from the mode actuator (1).
5. Remove the mode actuator.

1. Install the mode actuator (1).
2. Install the screws to the mode actuator (1). Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (18 lb in).
3. Install the left hand floor duct. Refer to «Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side»(ref-277731-S25144329692008011800000) .
4. Install the left side sound insulator screws.

1. Remove the I/P carrier. Refer to «Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement»(ref-277716-S18782084562008011800000) .
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the defroster actuator.
3. Remove the screws from the defroster actuator.
4. Remove the defroster actuator.

1. Install the defroster actuator.
2. Install the defroster actuator screws. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
3. Connect the electrical connector to the defroster actuator.
4. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to «Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement»(ref-277716-S18782084562008011800000) .

1. Remove the I/P carrier. Refer to «Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement»(ref-277716-S18782084562008011800000) .
2. Remove the air temperature actuator-right retaining screws.
3. Disconnect the air temperature actuator-right electrical connector.
4. Remove the air temperature actuator-right.

1. Install the air temperature actuator-right.
2. Tighten the air temperature actuator-right retaining screws. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
3. Install the air temperature actuator-right electrical connector.
4. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to «Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement»(ref-277716-S18782084562008011800000) .
5. Recalibrate the air temperature actuator on vehicles equipped with automatic climate control (C68). Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-277730-S28976763112008011800000) .

1. Remove the I/P carrier. Refer to «Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement»(ref-277716-S18782084562008011800000) .
2. Remove the air temperature actuator-left (1) retaining screws.
3. Disconnect the air temperature actuator-left electrical connector.
4. Remove the air temperature actuator-left.

1. Install the air temperature actuator-left (1).
2. Install the air temperature actuator-left retaining screws. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
3. Connect the air temperature actuator-left electrical connector.
4. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to «Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement»(ref-277716-S18782084562008011800000) .
5. Recalibrate the air temperature actuator on vehicles equipped with automatic climate control (C68). Refer to «Re-Calibrating Actuators (Primary)»(ref-277730-S28976763112008011800000) .

1. Remove the console. Refer to «Console Replacement»(ref-277716-S40030638892008011800000) .
2. Remove the screw from the air outlet duct.
3. Remove the air outlet duct from the console.
4. Remove the rear mode actuator retaining screws.
5. Remove the rear mode actuator.

1. Install the mode actuator.
2. Install the screws to the mode actuator. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
3. Install the air outlet duct to the console.
4. Install the screw to the air outlet duct. Tighten: Tighten the screw to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
5. Install the console. Refer to «Console Replacement»(ref-277716-S40030638892008011800000) .

1. Remove the radio. Refer to «Radio Replacement»(ref-277717-S32975660432008011800000) .
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the air temperature sensor - upper right (1).
3. Remove the air temperature sensor - upper right (1) by turning the sensor clockwise and pulling out.

1. Install the air temperature sensor - upper right (1).
2. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the air temperature sensor - upper right (1).
3. Install the radio. Refer to «Radio Replacement»(ref-277717-S32975660432008011800000) .

1. Remove the radio. Refer to «Radio Replacement»(ref-277717-S32975660432008011800000) .
2. Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to «HVAC Control Module Replacement»(ref-277772-S16315124172008011800000) .
3. Remove the air temperature sensor.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the upper air temperature sensor (1).

1. Install the upper air temperature sensor (1) to the air duct (2).
2. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the upper air temperature sensor (1).
3. Install the upper air temperature sensor.
4. Install the HVAC control module. Refer to «HVAC Control Module Replacement»(ref-277772-S16315124172008011800000) .
5. Install the radio. Refer to «Radio Replacement»(ref-277717-S32975660432008011800000) .

1. Remove the I/P assembly. Refer to «Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement»(ref-277716-S15013547812008011800000) .
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the air temperature sensor-lower left (2).
3. Remove the air temperature sensor-lower left.

1. Install the air temperature sensor-lower left (2).
2. Connect the electrical connector to the air temperature sensor-lower left.
3. Install the I/P assembly. Refer to «Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement»(ref-277716-S15013547812008011800000) .

1. Remove the passenger side closeout panel. Refer to «Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side»(ref-277716-S40232166422008011800000) .
2. Remove the I/P lower closeout panel. Refer to «Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement (GMC/Chevrolet)»(ref-277716-S33844631742008011800000) .
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the air temperature sensor-lower right (2).
4. Remove the air temperature sensor-lower right (2).

1. Install the air temperature sensor-lower right (2).
2. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the air temperature sensor-lower right (2).
3. Install the I/P lower closeout panel. Refer to «Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement (GMC/Chevrolet)»(ref-277716-S33844631742008011800000) .
4. Install the passenger side closeout panel. Refer to «Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side»(ref-277716-S40232166422008011800000) .

1. Remove the upper portion of the left center trim pillar.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Remove the retaining clips from the B pillar.
4. Remove the inside air temperature sensor assembly (1) from the B pillar.

1. Connect the electrical connector to the inside air temperature sensor assembly (1).
2. Install the inside air temperature sensor assembly (1) to the B pillar.
3. Install the retaining clips to the B pillar.
4. Install the upper portion of the left center trim pillar.

1. Remove the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to «Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement»(ref-277716-S40387306842008011800000) .
2. Remove the sun load sensor from the I/P upper trim pad by turning counter clockwise.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sun load sensor.

1. Connect the electrical connector to the sun load sensor.
2. Install the sun load sensor to the I/P upper trim pad by turning clockwise.
3. Install the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to «Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement»(ref-277716-S40387306842008011800000) .
