Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument cluster bezel. Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) REPLACEMENT»(ref-175346-S41801595412005042000000) .
  2. Unsnap the switch from the housing.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the switch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the headlamp switch by snapping the headlamps switch into place.
  3. Install the bezel to the instrument panel. Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) REPLACEMENT»(ref-175346-S41801595412005042000000) .
  1. Remove the instrument panel bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - IP CLUSTER»(ref-175346-S10239601372005042000000) .
  2. Pull out the accessary switch housing.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the head lamp leveling switch from the accessary switch housing.
  1. Install the head lamp leveling switch into accessary switch housing.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.
  3. Install the accessary switch housing.
  4. Install the instrument panel bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - IP CLUSTER»(ref-175346-S10239601372005042000000) .

  2. Remove the fog lamp switch and cargo switch from the housing.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the fog lamp switch.
  4. Remove the fog lamp and cargo lamp switch from the housing.

  2. Pull out the accessary switch housing.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the fog lamp switch from the accessary switch housing.

  1. Install the fog lamp switch into accessary switch housing.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.
  3. Install the accessary switch housing.
  4. Install the instrument panel bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - IP CLUSTER»(ref-175346-S10239601372005042000000) .
  1. Remove the instrument panel top cover. Refer to «IP CARRIER REPLACEMENT»(ref-175346-S03275479832005042000000) .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) to the ambient light sensor on the underside of the IP top cover.
  3. Turn the ambient light sensor 1/4 turn and remove it from the IP top cover.

Scheme 101: Installation Procedure
  1. Install the ambient light sensor to the underside of the IP top cover, turning it 1/4 turn to secure it in place.
  2. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the ambient light sensor on the underside of the IP top cover.
  3. Install the instrument panel top cover. Refer to «IP CARRIER REPLACEMENT»(ref-175346-S03275479832005042000000) .

  1. Remove the IP trim bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - IP CLUSTER»(ref-175346-S10239601372005042000000) .
  2. Remove the head lamp switch/4WD shift button housing from the IP by pulling outwards. The arrows in the graphic shows the locations of the retaining clips.
  3. Disconnect all the electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the electrical tape around the lamp module and discard.
  5. Remove the lamp module from the connector by pulling outwards.

  1. Install the lamp module to the connector until fully seated. Important: Do not tape past the line where the cooling fins begin. Taping around the fins will result in the module overheating.
  2. Install a new electrical tape around the module in order to secure the module to the IP wire harness.
  3. Connect all the electrical connectors.
  4. Install the head lamp switch/4WD shift button housing to the IP so that the retainers are fully seated.
  5. Install the IP trim bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - IP CLUSTER»(ref-175346-S10239601372005042000000) .
  1. Open the electrical center cover (2).
  2. Using the relays/fuses diagram, locate the DRL relay.
  3. Remove the relay from the underhood electrical center.
  1. Refer to the diagram for the relays/fuses in the cover locate the position of the relay.
  2. Install the relay in the electrical center.
  3. Install the cover (2).
  4. Start and vehicle and shift gear lever out of park. Ask an assistant to look in front of vehicle to ensure the DRL are operating.
  1. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY)»(ref-175346-S29739292492005042000000) or «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY)»(ref-175346-S22519670112005042000000) .
  2. On the back side of the fuse block release the retainer while pulling the flasher (1) outwards.
  3. Remove the flasher (1) from the fuse block.

  1. Install the flasher (1) to the fuse block until the retainer clicks into place.

  1. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to pry off the exterior courtesy lamp assembly.
  2. Disconnect the electrical wires.
  3. Remove the 2 retaining screws.
  4. Remove the bulb.

  1. Install the bulb. NOTE: Refer to «FASTENER NOTICE»(ref-175132-S17785009232005041500000) .
  2. Install the 2 retaining screws. Tighten Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).
  3. Connect the electrical wires.
  4. Install the exterior courtesy lamp into the rear view mirror pressing into place until fully seated.

Important: Do not disconnect the electrical connectors.

  1. Remove and move the console end panel rearwards. Refer to «CENTER CONSOLE END PANEL REPLACEMENT»(ref-175346-S19133573812005042000000) .
  2. Press on the tabs (1) in order to remove the lamp assembly from the end panel.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. To replace the bulb turn counter clockwise to remove.

  1. Install the bulb by turning clockwise.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the lamp.
  3. Push in the lamp assembly until the tabs (1) are fully seated.
  4. Install the console end panel. Refer to «CENTER CONSOLE END PANEL REPLACEMENT»(ref-175346-S19133573812005042000000) .
  1. Gently push the assembly toward the front edge of the door.
  2. Lift the rear of the assembly from the door by using a small flat tool.
  3. Remove the courtesy lamp/reflector from the door panel.
  4. Twist and remove the socket container from the housing.
  5. Remove the bulb from the socket (if replacement is required).

  1. Install the bulb into the socket.
  2. Install the lens to the vehicle.
  3. Install the bulb and socket assembly into the housing into the lens (if equipped).
  4. Insert the tab on the assembly into the slot in the door panel at the front edge.
  5. Pivot the assembly into the door panel.
  6. Press the lens at the rear until the lens snaps into place.
  1. Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Lower the instrument panel storage compartment door by pressing in the tab.
  3. Depress the switch plunger.
  4. Pull the switch assembly downward from the retainer.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  6. Remove the shield from the switch assembly.
  7. Remove the bulb from the switch assembly.

  1. Install the bulb into the socket.
  2. Install the shield to the switch assembly.
  3. Connect the electrical connector.
  4. Depress the switch plunger.
  5. Slide the assembly upward into the retainer.
  6. Close the instrument panel storage compartment.
  1. Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY)»(ref-175346-S29739292492005042000000) or «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY)»(ref-175346-S22519670112005042000000) .
  3. Squeeze the sides of the instrument panel storage compartment.
  4. Pull out the compartment.
  5. Remove the ashtray assembly by unsnapping the retainers.
  6. Remove the lamp assembly and the shield from the top of the ashtray bracket.
  7. Remove the shield from the lamp assembly.
  8. Remove the bulb from the base by pulling the bulb straight out of the base.

  1. Install the bulb into the base by pushing the bulb straight into the base.
  2. Install the shield to the lamp assembly.
  3. Install the lamp assembly and the shield to the top of the ashtray bracket.
  4. Install the ashtray assembly to the instrument panel.
  5. Install the instrument panel storage compartment.
  6. Install the knee bolster. Refer to «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY)»(ref-175346-S29739292492005042000000) or «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY)»(ref-175346-S22519670112005042000000) .
  1. Remove the lamp lens assembly using a small screw driver.
  2. Remove the dome lamp assembly from the headliner.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bulb.

  1. Install the bulb.
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the dome lamp assembly into the headliner.
  4. Press the lens into place.
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Squeeze the lower tab. Remove the underhood lamp from the hood.
  3. Remove the lens cover. Use a small screw driver in order to pry the cover off.
  4. Remove the bulb from the socket.
  1. Install the bulb to the socket.
  2. Install the lens cover.
  3. Install the underhood lamp to the hood.
  4. Connect the in-line electrical connector.
CAUTIONRefer to HALOGEN BULB CAUTION .

Note. Avoid touching the bulb or letting the bulb come in contact with anything damp. Oil from your skin or moisture on the bulb can cause the bulb to explode when the bulb is turned on. If either comes in contact with the bulb, clean the bulb with alcohol or a suitable degreaser and wipe the bulb dry.

  1. Open the hood. Rotate the headlamp retainer pins.
  2. Remove the headlamp retainer pins.
  3. Pull out the headlamp assembly in order to access the electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Remove the bulb from the headlamp assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise.

Important

  1. Replace a high beam bulb with another high beam bulb. The high beam bulb has a red gasket.
  2. Replace a low beam bulb with another low beam bulb. The low beam bulb has a gray tip and a yellow gasket at the base.
  1. Install the new bulb to the headlamp assembly by twisting the bulb clockwise in order to lock in place.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the bulb.
  3. Install the headlamp assembly.
  4. Install the headlamp retainer pins.
  5. Rotate and lock the pins in place.
  6. Inspect the operation.
CAUTIONRefer to HALOGEN BULB CAUTION .

  3. Remove the headlamp retainer pins.
  4. Pull out the headlamp assembly in order to access the electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  6. Remove the bulb from the headlamp assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise.

Important

  1. Replace a high beam bulb with another high beam bulb. The high beam bulb has a red gasket.
  2. Replace a low beam bulb with another low beam bulb. The low beam bulb has a gray tip and a yellow gasket at the base.
  1. Install the new bulb to the headlamp assembly by twisting the bulb clockwise in order to lock in place.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the bulb.
  3. Install the headlamp assembly.
  4. Install the headlamp retainer pins.
  5. Rotate and lock the pins in place.

  7. Inspect the operation.

  2. Remove the headlamp retainer pins.
  3. Pull out the headlamp assembly in order to access the electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Remove the rubber cup to gain access the headlamp bulbs.
  6. Remove the bulbs.

Important

  1. Replace a high beam bulb with another high beam bulb. The high beam bulb has a red gasket.
  2. Replace a low beam bulb with another low beam bulb. The low beam bulb has a gray tip and a yellow gasket at the base.
  1. Install the bulbs.
  2. Install the rubber cup.
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the lamp assembly.
  4. Install the lamp assembly to the vehicle.
  5. Install the headlamp assembly retainer pins.
  6. Install the front grille. Refer to «GRILLE REPLACEMENT (CADILLAC)»(ref-178461-S27292289062005061500000) or «GRILLE REPLACEMENT (AVALANCHE)»(ref-178461-S34945734592005061500000) .

Scheme 115: Screen Method for Headlamp Aiming (Visual Aim)

The screen method requires an area set up specifically for headlamp aiming.

The area should consist of a level surface large enough to allow for a vehicle and an additional 7.62 m (25 ft) as measured from the face of the headlamps to the aiming screen.

The screen should be a wall or other flat surface at least 1.52 m (5 ft) high by 3.66 m (12 ft) wide with a matte white surface well shaded from extraneous light, and 90 degrees to the floor. The screen should be provided with a permanent vertical reference line 0.61 m (2 ft) from the left edge of the screen, 2 laterally adjustable vertical tapes, and one vertically adjustable horizontal tape.

After the aiming screen has been set up and located, paint or tape a reference line on the floor 15.24 m (50 ft) from the vertical reference line on the screen. This line should be perpendicular to the aiming screen and a mark placed at 7.62 m (25 ft) from the screen.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fog lamp.
  2. Remove the push pin retainers that attach the fog lamp to the bracket.
  3. Remove the fog lamp adjuster bolt and spring from the adjuster nut.
  4. Remove the fog lamp from the fog lamp bracket.
  5. Remove the fog lamp bracket bolts and bracket, as needed.

Note. Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

  1. Install the fog lamp bracket bolts and bracket, as needed. Tighten Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  2. Install the fog lamp to the fog lamp bracket.
  3. Install the fog lamp adjuster bolt and spring to the adjuster nut.
  4. Install the push pin retainers that attach the fog lamp to the bracket.
  5. Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamp.
  6. Inspect the fog lamp aiming.
CAUTIONRefer to HALOGEN BULB CAUTION .
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fog lamp.
  2. Remove the nuts from the fog lamp.
  3. Remove the fog lamp from the front bumper fascia.
  4. Remove the fog lamp bulb from the fog lamp, turning counterclockwise, if required.
  1. Install the fog lamp bulb to the fog lamp, turning clockwise, if required.
  2. Install the fog lamp to the front bumper fascia. NOTE: Refer to «FASTENER NOTICE»(ref-175132-S17785009232005041500000) .
  3. Install the nuts to the fog lamp. Tighten Tighten the nuts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamp.
  1. Remove the electrical connector. CAUTION: Refer to «HALOGEN BULB CAUTION»(ref-175132-S15872162902005041500000) .
  2. Remove the bulb from the fog lamp assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise and pulling the bulb out.

  1. Install the bulb to the fog lamp assembly by inserting the bulb and twisting the bulb clockwise.
  2. Install the electrical connector.
  1. Remove rear fog lamp retaining bolt (2) from the fog lamp bracket.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear fog lamp assembly.
  3. Remove the fog lamp assembly (1) from the vehicle.
  1. Install the fog lamp assembly (1) to the bracket. NOTE: Refer to «FASTENER NOTICE»(ref-175132-S17785009232005041500000) .
  2. Install the fog lamp retaining bolt (2). Tighten Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamp assembly.
  4. Inspect the fog lamp aiming.
  1. Remove the rear fog lamp lens (1) retaining screws (2). CAUTION: Refer to «HALOGEN BULB CAUTION»(ref-175132-S15872162902005041500000) .
  2. Remove the bulb from the rear fog lamp assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise and pulling the bulb out.

Scheme 117: Installation Procedure
  1. Install the bulb to the rear fog lamp assembly by inserting the bulb and twisting the bulb clockwise. NOTE: Refer to «FASTENER NOTICE»(ref-175132-S17785009232005041500000) .
  2. Install the rear fog lamp lens (1) retaining screws (2). Tighten Tighten the screws (2) to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  3. Inspect the operation of the rear fog lamp.
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to «LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE»(ref-178095-S14822380182005061000000) .
  2. Disconnect the electrical harness connectors. CAUTION: Refer to «HALOGEN BULB CAUTION»(ref-175132-S15872162902005041500000) .
  3. Remove the bulbs from the daytime running and fog lamp assembly by turning the bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
  4. Remove the fasteners (2) retaining the lamp assembly to the fascia.
  5. Remove the lamp assembly from the vehicle.

Scheme 118: Installation Procedure
  1. Install the lamp assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the fasteners to the lamp assembly. Tighten the fasteners 1.1 N.m (10 in).
  3. Install the bulbs to the daytime running and fog lamp assembly by turning the bulb 1/4 turn clockwise.
  4. Connect the electrical harness connectors.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Re-aim the fog lamps. Refer to «Fog Lamp Aiming Procedure»(ref-175710-S40485233672005042600000) .
  1. Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the headlamp. Refer to «Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Except Avalanche)»(ref-175710-S28768777712005042600000) or «Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Avalanche)»(ref-175710-S39620521582005042600000) or «Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Escalade)»(ref-175710-S33986209342005042600000) .
  3. Remove the park/turn signal lamp assembly by pushing on the inboard retainer clip.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the assembly.
  1. Install the electrical connector to the park/turn signal lamp assembly.
  2. Install the lamp assembly.
  3. Install the headlamp. Refer to «Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Except Avalanche)»(ref-175710-S28768777712005042600000) or «Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Avalanche)»(ref-175710-S39620521582005042600000) or «Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Escalade)»(ref-175710-S33986209342005042600000) .
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Rotate the park/turn retainer pins.
  3. Remove the park/turn retainer pins.
  4. Pull out the park/turn assembly in order to access the electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  6. Remove the bulb from the park/turn assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise.

  1. Install the new bulb to the park/turn assembly by twisting the bulb clockwise in order to lock in place.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the bulb.
  3. Install the park/turn assembly.
  4. Install the park/turn retainer pins.
  5. Rotate and lock the pins in place.
  6. Inspect the operation.
  1. Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the upper garnish molding at the headliner.
  3. Pull back the right and left side rear window garnish molding.
  4. Lower the rear of the headliner in order to access the electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
  6. Attach a short piece of wire to the high mounted stoplamp connector in order to assist the guiding of the harness through the body.
  7. Remove the high mounted stoplamp screws (2).
  8. Remove the high mounted stoplamp (1) from the vehicle.
  1. Attach the harness to the guide wire.
  2. Using the guide wire, pull the lamp wire through the hole in the roof panel.
  3. Remove the guide wire. NOTE: Refer to «FASTENER NOTICE»(ref-175132-S17785009232005041500000) .
  4. Install the high mounted stoplamp (1) to the vehicle with the screws (2). Tighten Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).
  5. Connect the electrical connector (4).
  6. Install the headliner.
  7. Install the left and right side rear window garnish molding.
  8. Install the rear upper garnish molding.
  1. Raise the lift glass.
  2. Remove the retainers from the stop lamp.
  3. Lower the lift glass.
  4. Raise the stop lamp to disconnect the electrical connector from the lamp.
  5. Remove the center high-mounted stop lamp from the vehicle.
  1. Connect the electrical harness to the stop lamp.
  2. Install the center high-mounted stop lamp onto the vehicle.
  3. Raise the lift glass. NOTE: Refer to «FASTENER NOTICE»(ref-175132-S17785009232005041500000) .
  4. Install the retainers into the holes. Tighten Tighten the retainers to 1.2 N.m (10 lb in).
  5. Close the lift glass.
  1. Ensure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the rear compartment cover assembly.
  3. Remove the cargo box bridge center bar. Refer to «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (AVALANCHE)»(ref-178461-S31775103572005091400000) or «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (ESCALADE EXT)»(ref-178461-S18522977952005091400000) .
  4. Remove the stoplamp retaining screws.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
  6. Remove the lamp assembly from the cargo box bridge center bar.
  1. Install the lamp assembly to the cargo box bridge center bar.
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the cargo box bridge center bar. Refer to «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (AVALANCHE)»(ref-178461-S31775103572005091400000) or «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (ESCALADE EXT)»(ref-178461-S18522977952005091400000) .
  4. Inspect the operation.
  5. Install the rear compartment cover assembly.
  1. Ensure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the rear compartment cover assembly.
  3. Remove the cargo box bridge center bar. Refer to «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (AVALANCHE)»(ref-178461-S31775103572005091400000) or «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (ESCALADE EXT)»(ref-178461-S18522977952005091400000) .
  4. Remove the panel assembly from the vehicle.
  5. Disconnect the Lamp Electrical connector.
  6. Remove the high mount stop lamp from the cargo bridge center bar. Refer to «High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement (Utilities)»(ref-175710-S09277267272005042600000) or «High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement (Escalade)»(ref-175710-S19799485792005042600000) or «High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement (Escalade EXT)»(ref-175710-S02656167282005042600000) or «High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement (Avalanche)»(ref-175710-S29467711022005042600000) .
  1. Install the lamp assembly to the cargo box bridge center bar.
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the panel assembly to the vehicle.
  4. Install the Cargo Box Bridge Center Bar. Refer to «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (AVALANCHE)»(ref-178461-S31775103572005091400000) or «PANEL REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX BRIDGE CENTER (ESCALADE EXT)»(ref-178461-S18522977952005091400000) .
  5. Inspect the operation.
  6. Install the rear compartment cover assembly.
  1. Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the lens from the lamp assembly.
  3. Remove the bulb.
  1. Install the bulb.
  2. Install the lens to the lamp assembly.
  3. Inspect the operation.
  1. Remove the rear license plate attaching hardware from the rear bumper.
  2. Remove the spare tire wheel hoist guide and retaining clip. Refer to «TIRE HOIST AND SHAFT REPLACEMENT»(ref-178243-S32513153472005061300000) .
  3. Remove the top fascia step pads. Refer to «STEP PAD REPLACEMENT - TOP REAR BUMPER»(ref-189507-S39610830352005090800000) .
  4. Remove the center fascia step pads. Refer to «STEP PAD REPLACEMENT - CENTER REAR BUMPER»(ref-189507-S04944563642005090800000) .
  5. Remove the rear object sensors. Refer to «REAR OBJECT SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-189281-S02871946162005090700000) .
  6. Remove the rear fascia from the bumper bar.
  7. Release the lamp assembly tab from the rear fascia to remove.
  8. Release the lamp socket by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
  9. Remove the lamp assembly from the vehicle.
  1. Install the lamp assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the lamp socket and turn 1/4 turn clockwise.
  3. Press the lamp firmly to attach.
  4. Install the rear fascia to the bumper bar.
  5. Install the rear object sensor. Refer to «REAR OBJECT SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-189281-S02871946162005090700000) .
  6. Install the center fascia step pad. Refer to «STEP PAD REPLACEMENT - CENTER REAR BUMPER»(ref-189507-S04944563642005090800000) .
  7. Install the top fascia step pads. Refer to «STEP PAD REPLACEMENT - TOP REAR BUMPER»(ref-189507-S39610830352005090800000) .
  8. Install the spare tire wheel hoist guide and retaining clip. Refer to «TIRE HOIST AND SHAFT REPLACEMENT»(ref-178243-S32513153472005061300000) .
  9. Install the rear license plate attaching hardware and licence plate.
  1. Ensure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Open the endgate.
  3. Avalanche model shown. Remove the 2 screws retaining the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the body.
  4. Identify the bulb in need of replacement. The top bulb is a parking lamp and stop lamp The center bulb is a turn indicator lamp The lower bulb is a backup lamp
  5. Rotate the bulb socket 1/4 turn counter-clockwise in order to remove the bulb sockets from the tail/turn lamp assembly.
  6. Remove the bulbs from the sockets by pulling out the bulbs.
  1. Install the bulb into the socket.
  2. Install the bulb socket to the tail/turn lamp assembly by rotating the socket 1/4 turn clockwise. NOTE: Refer to «FASTENER NOTICE»(ref-175132-S17785009232005041500000) .
  3. Install the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the vehicle with the 2 screws. Tighten Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
  4. Close the endgate.
  5. Inspect the operation.
