REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer system have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
Note. Power window motor is not serviced. It is replaced as an assembly with window regulator.
Removal & Installation (Window Motor & Regulator)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove plug on each of trim panel pull strap (if equipped) and screws underneath. Remove trim panel pull strap. Remove door handle bezel. Remove armrest screws and armrest pad.
- Insert Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) between handle and bearing plate. Align door handle clip remover parallel with door handle and push to disengage spring clip. Pull window regulator handle from door. Remove bearing plate.
- Remove door trim panel by using Trim Pad Retainer Clip Remover (J 24595-C). Remove window switch bezel. See WINDOW SWITCH. Disconnect electrical connectors. Remove water dam by pulling it back from door assembly. Disconnect door lock linkage.
- Lower window all way down. Remove screws holding door inner panel to door. Disconnect lock and handle rods from back of door inner panel. Tape lock and handle rods to door. Disconnect electrical connectors (if not previously done) and push wiring into door. Move window run channel away from glass. Tilt door inner panel and window glass assembly, and lift door inner panel and glass out of bottom of door.
- Slide window glass channel from regulator roller assembly and remove window glass. Remove regulator assembly rivets. Remove regulator and motor as an assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Removal & Installation (Window Switch)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Squeeze ends of switch bezel housing while pulling switch bezel housing away from door trim panel. Gently pry locking tabs of switch terminal block away from switch. Carefully remove terminal block. To install, reverse removal procedure.
