Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Steering Wheel Controls (SWC) Switch Voltage parameter. Pressing the switch should read voltage present, and drop to 0 volts when released.

The control modules can communicate via the serial data link. Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Scan Tool Data List

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool steering wheel controls (SWC) Switch Voltage parameter. Pressing the switch should read voltage present, and drop to 0 volts when released.

Memory Seat Programming

Perform the following actions in order to program the memory seats for 2 separate drivers. Both outside mirrors can also be programmed with the seat position

  1. Move the seat to the desired position. Include the recliner, lumbar, and side wing area seat position.
  2. Press the correct memory seat button for the specific driver and hold for 3 seconds. After pressing the switch a double chime should be heard.
  3. Repeat the steps for the second driver.

Easy Exit Seat Programming

Perform the following actions in order to program the memory seats for 2 separate drivers

  1. Press the correct memory seat button for the specific driver. The seat will move to the last stored memory position.
  2. Move the seat to the desired exit/entry position.
  3. Press the exit button and hold for 3 seconds. After pressing the switch a double chime should be heard.
  4. Repeat the steps for the second driver.

Programming Features with the Driver Information Center

To enter programming with the driver information center (DIC), perform the following actions

  1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  2. Ensure that the vehicle is in PARK or that the park brake is applied.
  3. Press the personalization button on the DIC to scroll through all of the personalization options.

Automatic Locking/Automatic Unlocking

Continue with the following steps in order to program the automatic door locks feature

  1. The DIC displays LOCK DOORS: IN GEAR, or WITH SPEED.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.
  4. The DIC displays UNLOCK DOORS: IN PARK, KEY OUT, or MANUALLY or UNLOCK DRIVER: IN PARK.
  5. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  6. Press the personalization button in order to advance to the next option.
  7. The DIC displays DOOR LOCK DELAY: ON, OFF.
  8. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  9. Press the personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Remote Activation Verification

Continue with the following steps in order to program the remote activation verification feature

  1. The DIC displays LOCK FEEDBACK: HORN, LAMPS, BOTH, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.
  4. The DIC displays UNLOCK FEEDBACK: HORN, LAMPS, BOTH, or OFF.
  5. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  6. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Headlamp Delay

Continue with the following steps in order to program the headlamp delay feature

  1. The DIC displays HEADLAMP DELAY: OFF, 20 SEC, 40 SEC, 1 MIN, 2 MIN, 3 MIN, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Perimeter Lighting

Continue with the following steps in order to program the perimeter lighting feature

  1. The DIC displays PERIMETER LIGHTS: ON or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Easy Exit Seat

Continue with the following steps in order to program the exit position recall feature

  1. The DIC displays EASY EXIT SEAT: ON or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Curb View Assist

Continue with the following steps in order to program the Mirror Reverse Tilt feature

  1. The DIC displays CURB VIEW: PASSENGER, DRIVER, BOTH, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. When the vehicle is shifted into REVERSE and the Mirror Reverse Tilt feature is activated, any adjustments made to the preset position now becomes the new set position stored, this feature can be customized for each driver.
  4. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Alarm Warning Type

Continue with the following steps in order to program the alarm warning feature

  1. The DIC displays ALARM WARNING: HORN, LAMPS, BOTH, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Elevated Idle

Continue with the following steps in order to program the alarm warning feature

  1. The DIC displays ELEVATED IDLE: ON, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Display Language

Continue with the following steps in order to program the language displayed

  1. The DIC displays LANGUAGE: ENGLISH, FRANCAIS, or ESPANOL or LANGUAGE: ENGLISH, FRANCAIS, or ARABIC.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.
  4. If the vehicle does not have the personalization button, use the trip stem to toggle to the season odometer display and then press and hold the trip stem to cycle through the languages and release it when the language of choice is displayed.

Display Units (ENG/MET)

Continue with the following steps in order to program the display units

  1. The DIC displays DISPLAY UNITS: ENGLISH or METRIC.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Exit Programming

The following actions end the programming session

  1. The ignition is turned OFF.
  2. The programming timer of 15 seconds expires with no activity.
  3. The trip or fuel button is pressed.

Vehicle Personalization

Your vehicle is equipped with an automatic lock/unlock feature which enables you to program your vehicles power door locks. You can program this feature through the driver information center (DIC), or by the following method. See Driver Personalization for more information on DIC programming.

Programmable Locking Feature

The following is the list of available programming options

The following instructions tell you how to change the automatic door lock mode. Choose one of the three programming options listed above before entering the program mode. To enter the program mode, do the following

  1. Begin with the ignition off. Then pull the turn signal/multifunction lever toward you and hold it there while you perform the next step.
  2. Turn the key to RUN then back to LOCK twice. Then, with the key in LOCK, release the turn signal/multifunction lever. Once you do this, the doors will lock and unlock, the horn will chirp once, and a 30-second timer will begin. You are now ready to program the automatic door lock feature.
  3. Press the lock side of the power lock switch once. You will hear one or two chimes. The number of chimes tells you which lock mode is currently selected. Continue to press the door lock switch until the number of chimes that you hear matches the number of the mode that you want. If you take longer than 30 seconds, the locks will automatically lock and unlock and the horn will chirp twice to indicate that you have left the program mode. If this occurs, you can repeat the procedure beginning with Step 1 to re-enter the programming mode.

You can exit the program mode any time by turning the ignition to RUN (the doors will automatically lock and unlock and the horn will chirp twice to indicate that you are leaving the program mode). If the lock/unlock switches are not pressed while in the programming mode, the current automatic settings will not be modified.

Programmable Unlocking Feature

The following is the list of available programming options

The following instructions tell you how to change the automatic door unlock mode. Choose one of the four programming options listed above before entering the program mode. To enter the program mode, do the following

  1. Begin with the ignition off. Then pull the turn signal/multifunction lever toward you and hold it there while you perform the next step.
  2. Turn the key to RUN and LOCK twice. Then, with the key in LOCK, release the turn signal/multifunction lever. Once you do this, the doors will lock and unlock, the horn will chirp once, and a 30-second timer will begin. You are now ready to program the automatic door unlock feature.
  3. Press the unlock side of the power lock switch once. You will hear one, two, three, or four chimes. The number of chimes tells you which unlock mode is currently selected. Continue to press the door unlock switch until the number of chimes that you hear matches the number of the mode that you want. If you take longer than 30 seconds, the locks will automatically lock and unlock and the horn will chirp twice to indicate that you have left the program mode. If this occurs, you can repeat the procedure beginning with Step 1 to re-enter the programming mode.
