1. The TBCM detects the user gain switch is applied before the ignition is cycled OFF, and continuously applied for 30 seconds after ignition is cycled to ON.
2. The TBCM detects the user gain switch is applied continuously for 5 minutes.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

1. The trailer brake control will be disabled for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
2. The driver information center (DIC) will display Service Trailer Brake System.

Condition for Clearing the DTC

1. The condition for the DTC is no longer present.
2. The TBCM clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 40 consecutive drive cycles.
