Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the headlamp switch by snapping the headlamps switch into place.
- Install the bezel to the instrument panel.

- Remove the instrument panel bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER»(ref-176702-S27142492202005051000000) .
- Pull out the accessary switch housing.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the headlamp leveling switch from the accessary switch housing.
- Install the head lamp leveling switch into accessary switch housing.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the accessary switch housing.
- Install the instrument panel bezel.

- Remove the instrument cluster bezel. Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) REPLACEMENT»(ref-176702-S39325147882005051000000) .
- Remove the fog lamp switch and cargo switch from the housing.
- Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the fog lamp switch.
- Remove the fog lamp and cargo lamp switch from the housing.
- Connect the electrical connector(s) to the fog lamp and cargo lamp switch.
- Install the fog lamp switch into the housing.
- Install the IP trim bezel to the instrument panel. Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) REPLACEMENT»(ref-176702-S39325147882005051000000) .
Scheme 91
- Remove the instrument panel bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER»(ref-176702-S27142492202005051000000) .
- Pull out the accessary switch housing.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the fog lamp switch from the accessary switch housing.
- Install the fog lamp switch into accessary switch housing.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the accessary switch housing.
- Install the instrument panel bezel. Refer to «BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER»(ref-176702-S27142492202005051000000) .
Scheme 92
- Remove the instrument panel top cover. Refer to «TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER»(ref-176702-S10596506242005051000000) .
- Disconnect the electrical connector (1) to the ambient light sensor on the underside of the IP top cover.
- Turn the ambient light sensor 1/4 turn and remove it from the IP top cover.
- Install the ambient light sensor to the underside of the IP top cover, turning it 1/4 turn to secure it in place.
- Connect the electrical connector (1) to the ambient light sensor on the underside of the IP top cover.
- Install the instrument panel top cover. Refer to «TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER»(ref-176702-S10596506242005051000000) .
Scheme 93
- Open the electrical center cover (2).
- Using the relays/fuses diagram, locate the DRL relay.
- Remove the relay from the underhood electrical center.
- Refer to the diagram for the relays/fuses in the cover locate the position of the relay.
- Install the relay in the electrical center.
- Install the cover (2).
- Start and vehicle and shift gear lever out of park. Ask an assistant to look in front of vehicle to ensure the DRL are operating.

- Remove the knee bolster. Refer to «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY)»(ref-176702-S04396270132005051000000) or «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY)»(ref-176702-S17859846442005051000000) .
- On the back side of the fuse block release the retainer while pulling the flasher (1) outwards.
- Remove the flasher (1) from the fuse block.
- Install the flasher (1) to the fuse block until the retainer clicks into place.
- Install the knee bolster.

- Use a flat-bladed tool in order to pry off the exterior courtesy lamp assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical wires.
- Remove the 2 retaining screws.
- Remove the bulb.
- Install the bulb.
- Install the 2 retaining screws. Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).
- Connect the electrical wires.
- Install the exterior courtesy lamp into the rear view mirror pressing into place until fully seated.
Removal Procedure
Important: Do not disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove and move the console end panel rearwards. Refer to «CENTER CONSOLE END PANEL REPLACEMENT»(ref-176702-S11835693212005051000000) .
- Press on the tabs (1) in order to remove the lamp assembly from the end panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- To replace the bulb turn counter clockwise to remove.
- Install the bulb by turning clockwise.
- Connect the electrical connector to the lamp.
- Push in the lamp assembly until the tabs (1) are fully seated.
- Install the console end panel.
- Gently push the assembly toward the front edge of the door.
- Lift the rear of the assembly from the door by using a small flat tool.
- Remove the courtesy lamp/reflector from the door panel.
- Twist and remove the socket container from the housing.
- Remove the bulb from the socket (if replacement is required).
- Install the bulb into the socket.
- Install the lens to the vehicle.
- Install the bulb and socket assembly into the housing into the lens (if equipped).
- Insert the tab on the assembly into the slot in the door panel at the front edge.
- Pivot the assembly into the door panel.
- Press the lens at the rear until the lens snaps into place.
- Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
- Lower the instrument panel storage compartment door by pressing in the tab.
- Depress the switch plunger.
- Pull the switch assembly downward from the retainer.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the shield from the switch assembly.
- Remove the bulb from the switch assembly.
- Install the bulb into the socket.
- Install the shield to the switch assembly.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Depress the switch plunger.
- Slide the assembly upward into the retainer.
- Close the instrument panel storage compartment.

- Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
- Remove the knee bolster. Refer to «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY)»(ref-176702-S04396270132005051000000) or «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY)»(ref-176702-S17859846442005051000000) .
- Squeeze the sides of the instrument panel storage compartment.
- Pull out the compartment.
- Remove the ashtray assembly by unsnapping the retainers.
- Remove the lamp assembly and the shield from the top of the ashtray bracket.
- Remove the shield from the lamp assembly.
- Remove the bulb from the base by pulling the bulb straight out of the base.
- Install the bulb into the base by pushing the bulb straight into the base.
- Install the shield to the lamp assembly.
- Install the lamp assembly and the shield to the top of the ashtray bracket.
- Install the ashtray assembly to the instrument panel.
- Install the instrument panel storage compartment.
- Install the knee bolster. Refer to «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY)»(ref-176702-S04396270132005051000000) or «KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY)»(ref-176702-S17859846442005051000000) .

- Remove the lamp lens assembly using a small screw driver.
- Remove the dome lamp assembly from the headliner.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the bulb.
- Install the bulb.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the dome lamp assembly into the headliner.
- Press the lens into place.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Squeeze the lower tab. Remove the underhood lamp from the hood.
- Remove the lens cover. Use a small screw driver in order to pry the cover off.
- Remove the bulb from the socket.
- Install the bulb to the socket.
- Install the lens cover.
- Install the underhood lamp to the hood.
- Connect the in-line electrical connector.
| CAUTION | Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal injury: Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing the bulb. Leave the lamp switch OFF until the bulb change is complete. Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb. Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass. Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb. Properly dispose of the used bulb. Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children. |
Note. Avoid touching the bulb or letting the bulb come in contact with anything damp. Oil from your skin or moisture on the bulb can cause the bulb to explode when the bulb is turned on. If either comes in contact with the bulb, clean the bulb with alcohol or a suitable degreaser and wipe the bulb dry.
Scheme 102
- Open the hood. Rotate the headlamp retainer pins.
- Remove the headlamp retainer pins.
- Pull out the headlamp assembly in order to access the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the bulb from the headlamp assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise.
Important
- Replace a high beam bulb with another high beam bulb. The high beam bulb has a red gasket.
- Replace a low beam bulb with another low beam bulb. The low beam bulb has a gray tip and a yellow gasket at the base.
- Install the new bulb to the headlamp assembly by twisting the bulb clockwise in order to lock in place.
- Connect the electrical connector to the bulb.
- Install the headlamp assembly.
- Install the headlamp retainer pins.
- Rotate and lock the pins in place.
- Inspect the operation.
- Install the fog lamp bracket bolts and bracket, as needed. Tighten the fog lamp bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fog lamp to the fog lamp bracket.
- Install the fog lamp adjuster bolt and spring to the adjuster nut.
- Install the push pin retainers that attach the fog lamp to the bracket.
- Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamp.
- Inspect the fog lamp aiming.
Scheme 103
- Remove the electrical connector.
- Remove the bulb from the fog lamp assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise and pulling the bulb out.
- Install the bulb to the fog lamp assembly by inserting the bulb and twisting the bulb clockwise.
- Install the electrical connector.
Scheme 104
- Remove the rear fog lamp lens (1) retaining screws (2).
- Remove the bulb from the rear fog lamp assembly by twisting the bulb counterclockwise and pulling the bulb out.
- Install the bulb to the rear fog lamp assembly by inserting the bulb and twisting the bulb clockwise.
- Install the rear fog lamp lens (1) retaining screws (2). Tighten the screws (2) to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Inspect the operation of the rear fog lamp.
- Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
- Remove the headlamp. Refer to «Headlamp Assembly Or Headlamp Bulb Replacement»(ref-176693-S17794972152005051000000) .
- Remove the park/turn signal lamp assembly by pushing on the inboard retainer clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the assembly.
- Install the electrical connector to the park/turn signal lamp assembly.
- Install the lamp assembly.
- Install the headlamp. Refer to «Headlamp Assembly Or Headlamp Bulb Replacement»(ref-176693-S17794972152005051000000) .
- Remove the screws from the roof marker lamp lens.
- Remove the roof marker lamp lens.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the roof marker lamp.
- Remove the lamp assembly.
- Install the lamp assembly.
- Connect the electrical connector to the roof marker lamp.
- Install the roof marker lens.
- Install the screws to the roof marker lamp lens. Tighten screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb ft).
Scheme 105
- Remove the screws from the roof marker lamp lens.
- Remove the roof marker lamp lens.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the roof marker lamp.
- Remove the lamp assembly.
- Install the lamp assembly.
- Connect the electrical connector to the roof marker lamp.
- Install the roof marker lamp lens.
- Install the screws to the roof marker lens. Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
Scheme 106
- Remove the screws from the roof marker lamp lens.
- Remove the roof marker lamp lens.
- Remove the bulb.
- In order to install the bulb, push in the bulb until the bulb is seated.
- Install the roof marker lamp lens.
- Install the screws to the roof marker lamp lens. Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb ft).
Scheme 107
- Remove the screws from the roof marker lamp lens.
- Remove the roof marker lamp lens.
- Remove the bulb.
- In order to install the bulb, push in the bulb until the bulb is seated.
- Install the roof marker lamp lens.
- Install the screws to the roof marker lamp lens. Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb ft).
- Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
- Remove the high mounted stop lamp screws.
- Remove the high mounted stop lamp from the vehicle.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the high mounted stop lamp to the vehicle.
- Install the high mounted stop lamp screws. Tighten the high mounted stop lamp screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).
- Inspect the operation.
Scheme 108
- Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
- Remove the lens from the lamp assembly (2).
- Remove the bulb.
- Install the bulb.
- Install the lens to the lamp assembly (2).
- Install the wiring (3) to the back of the lens assembly.
Scheme 109
- Ensure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
- Lower the end gate.
- Remove the 2 screws retaining the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the body.
- Identify the bulb in need of replacement. The top bulb is a parking lamp and stop lamp The center bulb is a turn indicator lamp The lower bulb is a backup lamp
- Turn the socket assembly.
- Remove the socket assembly from the housing.
- Turn the socket.
- Lock the socket in place.
- Install the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the vehicle with the 2 screws.
- Close the end gate.
- Inspect the operation.
Scheme 110
- Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
- Lower the end gate.
- Remove the screws retaining the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the body.
- Identify the bulb in need of replacement.
- Turn the socket assembly and remove the bulb from the housing.
- Install the bulb into the socket.
- Install the socket into the housing turning the socket to lock it in place.
- Turn the socket and lock in place.
- Install the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the vehicle with the screws. Tighten the tail/turn signal lamp screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Close the end gate.
- Inspect the operation.
