Horn System: Removal & Installation Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Installation Procedure

1. Install the horn (2) to the radiator support (1).
2. Install the horn bolt. Tighten: Tighten the horn bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Connect the horn electrical connector.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Install the washer reservoir. Refer to «Washer Pump/Reservoir Replacement»(ref-238213-S13753301822006072400000) .
6. Install the battery tray. Refer to «Battery Tray Replacement»(ref-238198-S00778495972006072400000) .
7. Install the battery. Refer to «Battery Replacement»(ref-238198-S22256810562006072400000) .
8. Close the hood.

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-238215-S26215505352006072400000) .
2. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
3. Remove the horn bolt. Reposition the park/turn signal lamp wiring harness for additional clearance.
4. Remove the horn (2) from the radiator support (1).

1. Install the horn (2) to the radiator support (1).
2. Install the horn bolt. Tighten: Tighten the horn bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Connect the horn electrical connector.
4. Lower the vehicle.
