Scheme 8: Removal Procedure
  1. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-609113-S03723650212014041500000) .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-609111-S25517100942014041500000) .
  3. Remove the front wheels. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-609123-S14697703972014041500000) .
  4. Remove the front fascia. Refer to «Front Bumper Fascia Replacement»(ref-609127-S28298773962014041500000) .
  5. Remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to «Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement»(ref-609146-S20380178482014041500000) .
  6. Tie the radiator, air conditioning condenser, and fan module assembly to the upper radiator support to keep the assembly with the vehicle when the frame is lowered.
  7. Disconnect the left and right stabilizer links from the strut assemblies. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement»(ref-609153-S09461559712014041500000) .
  8. Remove the two steering gear retaining bolts. Refer to «Steering Gear Replacement (LUK With MHH)»(ref-609154-S13318969472014041500000) , «Steering Gear Replacement (LKW With MNH)»(ref-609154-S03788470502014041500000) , «Steering Gear Replacement (LTG With M7W)»(ref-609154-S04936144442014041500000) .
  9. Using mechanics wire, suspend the steering gear from the powertrain.
  10. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to «Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LUK)»(ref-609155-S22126254612014041500000) , «Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG)»(ref-609155-S04881988512014041500000) , «Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LKW)»(ref-609155-S21191047162014041500000) .
  11. Remove the frame reinforcement fasteners (1) and discard.
  12. Remove the front transmission mount through bolt (1).
  13. Remove the rear transmission mount to frame fasteners (1, 2).
  14. Separate the lower ball joints from the steering knuckles (1). Refer to «Lower Control Arm Replacement»(ref-609153-S14283364842014041500000) .
  15. Remove the electrical harness from the clips in the frame (2).
  16. Mark the location of the frame using spray paint for correct positioning during installation.
  17. Carefully lower the vehicle until the frame contacts the support table.
  18. Remove the two rear frame-to-body bolts.
  19. Remove the frame reinforcements.
  20. Remove the two front frame-to-body bolts.
  21. Carefully raise the vehicle to separate the frame from the body.
  22. If replacing the frame, transfer components as necessary.
