Scheme 8: Removal Procedure
- Install the engine support fixture. Refer to «Engine Support Fixture»(ref-609113-S03723650212014041500000) .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-609111-S25517100942014041500000) .
- Remove the front wheels. Refer to «Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation»(ref-609123-S14697703972014041500000) .
- Remove the front fascia. Refer to «Front Bumper Fascia Replacement»(ref-609127-S28298773962014041500000) .
- Remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to «Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement»(ref-609146-S20380178482014041500000) .
- Tie the radiator, air conditioning condenser, and fan module assembly to the upper radiator support to keep the assembly with the vehicle when the frame is lowered.
- Disconnect the left and right stabilizer links from the strut assemblies. Refer to «Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement»(ref-609153-S09461559712014041500000) .
- Remove the two steering gear retaining bolts. Refer to «Steering Gear Replacement (LUK With MHH)»(ref-609154-S13318969472014041500000) , «Steering Gear Replacement (LKW With MNH)»(ref-609154-S03788470502014041500000) , «Steering Gear Replacement (LTG With M7W)»(ref-609154-S04936144442014041500000) .
- Using mechanics wire, suspend the steering gear from the powertrain.
- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to «Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LUK)»(ref-609155-S22126254612014041500000) , «Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG)»(ref-609155-S04881988512014041500000) , «Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LKW)»(ref-609155-S21191047162014041500000) .
- Remove the frame reinforcement fasteners (1) and discard.
- Remove the front transmission mount through bolt (1).
- Remove the rear transmission mount to frame fasteners (1, 2).
- Separate the lower ball joints from the steering knuckles (1). Refer to «Lower Control Arm Replacement»(ref-609153-S14283364842014041500000) .
- Remove the electrical harness from the clips in the frame (2).
- Mark the location of the frame using spray paint for correct positioning during installation.
- Carefully lower the vehicle until the frame contacts the support table.
- Remove the two rear frame-to-body bolts.
- Remove the frame reinforcements.
- Remove the two front frame-to-body bolts.
- Carefully raise the vehicle to separate the frame from the body.
- If replacing the frame, transfer components as necessary.
