Warning System - Buzzer/chime Chevrolet Chevy Van G20

Warning System ~405 words

DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

Warning systems use either buzzer or chime module to warn driver of several conditions

  1. LIGHTS ON (Chime Only) Warns driver lights are on. If headlights or parking lights are on and ignition switch is turned to OFF, LOCK or ACC position, alarm is activated. Alarm remains on until lights are turned off.
  2. IGNITION KEY (Buzzer Or Chime) Warns driver key is in ignition. If driver's door is open and key is in ignition with ignition OFF, alarm is activated. Alarm remains on until driver's door is closed or key is removed from ignition.
  3. SEAT BELT (Buzzer Or Chime) Warns driver seat beat is unbuckled. If seat belt is unbuckled and ignition switch has been turned to RUN position, chime is activated for 3-to-5 times. FASTEN BELTS indicator light on instrument panel illuminates for 5-8 seconds after ignition is turned to RUN position, even if seat belt is buckled.

On Lumina APV, Silhouette and Trans Sport, alarm module generates a different warning for each condition. Each warning is a series of pulsed chimes. Warnings vary in time between chimes.

  1. LIGHTS ON - Pulses once every 1/2 second.
  2. IGNITION KEY - Pulses once every second.
  3. SEAT BELT - Pulses once every 1 1/2 seconds.
