OIL/CHOKE INDICATOR LIGHT (GASOLINE ENGINE)
| CAUTION | Continuing to run engine with an illuminated oil/choke light can cause serious engine damage. |
This light will come on to provide a bulb check when the ignition is turned on, but should go out after the engine is started. If light comes on when the engine is running, the source of the problem could be any of the following: Loss of engine oil pressure (check engine oil level), blown instrument lamp fuse, blown choke heater fuse, or loss of electric choke heater voltage.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE LIGHT
| CAUTION | If engine coolant temperature light comes on, continued operation of engine may result in serious engine damage. |
Light is located on the instrument panel and is designed to come on to warn driver that engine coolant has overheated.
ALTERNATOR "VOLT" LIGHT
Light will glow with the ignition switch in the RUN or START position until the engine is started. If light comes on while driving and remains on, have the electrical system serviced as soon as possible.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
The light indicates that there is a potential problem with the emission control system that requires servicing. Service as soon as possible. Failure to service vehicle promptly can result in damage not covered by warranty.
WAIT LIGHT (DIESEL ENGINE)
The diesel engine has a special starting system. An instrument panel WAIT light tells the driver when the engine is ready to be started.
WATER IN FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT (DIESEL ENGINE)
Vehicles with diesel engines have a WATER IN FUEL light to warn the driver of excessive water in the fuel system.
BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
The BRAKE light indicates two things: either the parking brake is on or the brake fluid level is low. The light should come on briefly when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, and the parking brake is released. If light comes on, have brakes checked as soon as possible.
