REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| WARNING | Ensure master window switch assembly has been disconnected when working inside driver's door. If activated, express down feature allows window to drop down very quickly without stopping which could cause personal injury. |
- Lower window half way. Remove accessory switch panel. Remove lock rod knob from lock rod. Pull inside door handle open and remove screw(s) from inside door handle bezel. Disconnect light from rear of inside door handle bezel. Remove rear view mirror bezel.
- Remove armrest bolts. Insert Door Trim Pad And Garnish Clip Remover (J 38778) between male fastener (attached to trim panel) and female retainer (part of door) to release trim panel from door. Pull upward to release trim panel from upper retainers. Disconnect electrical connectors. Remove courtesy light socket from trim panel. Set trim panel aside.
- Remove water deflector. Support window by inserting rubber wedges between window and inner door panel. Remove window rear guide channel nuts.
- Move rear guide channel to gain access to regulator rivets. Drill out window regulator rivets. Slide window regulator rearward and disconnect electrical connector. Remove regulator assembly with motor attached, through rear access hole.
- Drill hole in regulator sector gear and backplate. (Scheme 2) Install bolt and nut to lock sector gear into position. Drill out rivets and remove fragments. Remove window motor from regulator.
- Mount window motor to regulator using NEW rivets. Remove bolt and nut installed earlier to secure sector gear. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
Scheme 2
Removal & Installation (Driver's Side)
Use a thin-blade screwdriver to pry between rear edge of switch and trim panel. Slide switch rearward to remove from trim panel. Disconnect electrical connector. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Removal & Installation (Passenger's Side)
Use a thin-blade screwdriver to pry between front edge of switch and trim panel. Slide switch forward to remove from trim panel. Disconnect electrical connector. To install, reverse removal procedure.
