SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHT

The SERVICE ENGINE SOON warning light indicates a malfunction in the engine control system. When functioning correctly, the light comes on when ignition is turned on and goes out when engine starts.

If light fails to come on with ignition on or remains on when running, a service need is indicated. A 2-digit or 3-digit trouble code will be stored into memory if a problem is detected. When trouble codes are repaired, the light should return to normal function.

CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT

The charging system light indicates a problem with the electrical charging system, possibly a loose generator belt. When functioning correctly, the light comes on when ignition is turned on and goes out when engine is started. If light comes on while driving, a service need is indicated. The battery could be drained if you continue driving.

BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

The BRAKE system warning light indicates a problem with the braking system. When functioning correctly, the light comes on when ignition is turned on and goes out when the engine starts. The light will also come on when the parking brake has been set. If light remains on while driving and the parking brake has been fully released, a service need is indicated.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) WARNING LIGHT (1992)

The ABS warning light will come on when the engine is started and may stay on for 5 seconds or longer. If light stays on or comes on while driving, stop as soon as possible and turn key off. Start engine to reset system. If light stays on, service is required. If the ABS light ever flashes, system is still working, but needs service.
