Speaker Replacement Reference

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the Instrument panel (I/P) center trim. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center»(ref-197555-S08876510802005101200000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the bolts (1) securing the radio to the I/P.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the bolts (1) securing the radio the I/P. Tighten: Tighten the bolts (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  3. Install the I/P center trim. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center»(ref-197555-S08876510802005101200000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  1. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  2. Release the retaining clips in order to remove the module (6) from the rear carrier.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Install the module (6) to the rear carrier.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.
  3. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  4. Reprogram the receiver. Refer to «Digital Radio Receiver Setup»(ref-197539-S39295244012005101200000) .
  1. Remove the rear compartment trim. Refer to «Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear»(ref-197543-S21104577462005101200000) in Body Rear End.
  2. Remove the bolts securing the amplifier to the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the amplifier.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the bolts securing the amplifier to the vehicle. Tighten: Tighten the bolts (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  3. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to «Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear»(ref-197543-S21104577462005101200000) in Body Rear End.
  1. Remove the overhead console. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead»(ref-197541-S29629167312005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the screws securing the microphone (2) to the overhead console.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the screws securing the microphone (2) to the overhead console. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  3. Install the overhead console. Refer to «Console Replacement - Overhead»(ref-197541-S29629167312005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  1. Lower the rear of the headliner. Refer to «Headliner Replacement»(ref-197541-S10799250892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the bolt securing antenna module to the roof.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the bolt securing the antenna module to the roof. Tighten: Tighten the bolts (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  3. Install the headliner. Refer to «Headliner Replacement»(ref-197541-S10799250892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  1. Remove the center floor console end panel. Refer to «Center Console End Panel Replacement»(ref-197555-S35679244752005101200000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the screws securing the speaker to the console end panel.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  1. Connect the electrical connector.
  2. Install the screws securing the speaker to the end panel. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  3. Install the center floor console end panel. Refer to «Center Console End Panel Replacement»(ref-197555-S35679244752005101200000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door»(ref-197538-S19037725242005101200000) in Doors.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
  3. Remove the screws (3) securing the speaker (2) to the door frame.
  4. Remove the speaker from the door.
  1. Connect the electrical connector (1).
  2. Install the speaker (2) onto the door frame. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the screws (3) securing the speaker to the door frame. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  4. Install the door trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door»(ref-197538-S19037725242005101200000) in Doors.
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) defroster grille. Refer to «Defroster Grille Replacement»(ref-197555-S28364401072005101200000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the screws (1) securing the speaker to the I/P.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the screws (1) securing the speaker to the I/P. Tighten: Tighten the screws (1) to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  3. Install the instrument panel defroster grille. Refer to «Defroster Grille Replacement»(ref-197555-S28364401072005101200000) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  1. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the speaker grille.
  2. Remove the screws securing the speaker to the seat.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the screws securing the speaker to the seat. Tighten: Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  3. Install the speaker grille.
  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door»(ref-197538-S28289700812005101200000) in Doors.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speaker.
  3. Remove the 4 rear speaker fasteners.
  4. Remove the rear speaker from the door trim panel.
  1. Install the rear speaker to the rear door trim panel.
  2. Install the 4 speaker fasteners. Tighten: Tighten the speaker fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the speaker.
  4. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door»(ref-197538-S28289700812005101200000) in Doors.
  1. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the nuts securing the center speaker (2).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the speaker (2).
  1. Install the speaker (2).
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the nuts securing the center speaker (2). Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  4. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  1. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the nuts securing the left speaker (3).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the speaker (3).
  1. Install the speaker (3).
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the nuts securing the left speaker (3). Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  4. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  1. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the screws securing the right speaker (1).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the speaker (1).
  1. Install the speaker (1).
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the screws securing the right speaker (1). Tighten: Tighten the screws to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  4. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to «Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf»(ref-197541-S12138765892005101200000) in Interior Trim.
