Personalization Description and Operation

Personalization features may be set for the vehicle or the driver. Vehicle features do not change with each driver. Specific drivers are recognized by the vehicle through the keyless entry transmitters, the memory buttons, or the driver information center (DIC), and the personalization settings for that driver are recalled.

Programmable Automatic Door Locks (If Equipped)

If the vehicle has power door locks, it is equipped with a feature that enables you to program the power door locks.

The vehicle left the factory programmed to automatically lock all doors when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P), and all doors unlock when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P).

If the vehicle has a manual transmission it left the factory programmed to lock all doors when the vehicle speed is greater than 24 km/h (15 mph) for two seconds, and unlock all doors once the key is removed from the ignition.

The following instructions detail how to enter the programming mode for the power door lock feature

  1. Begin with the ignition OFF. Then pull the signal/multifunction lever all the way toward you and hold it there while you perform the next step.
  2. Turn the key to RUN and LOCK twice. Then, with the key in LOCK, release the turn signal/multifunction lever. Once you do this you will hear the lock switch lock and unlock, the horn will chirp twice and a 30 second program timer will begin.
  3. You are now ready to program the automatic door locks. Select one of the following four programming options and follow the instructions. You will have 30 seconds to complete programming. If you exceed the 30 second limit, the locks will automatically lock and unlock and the horn will chirp twice to indicate that you have left the program mode. If this occurs, repeat the procedure beginning with step 1. You can exit the program mode any time by turning the ignition to RUN. If the LOCK/UNLOCK switches are not pressed while in the programming mode, the current LOCK/UNLOCK mode will not be modified.

The following is a list of available programming options

  1. All doors lock when the transmission is shifted into gear: Press the lock side of the power door lock switch on the door panel once.
  2. All doors lock when the vehicle speed is greater than 13 km/h (8 mph): Press the lock side of the power door lock switch on the door panel twice.
  3. No automatic door locking: Press the lock side of the power door lock switch on the door panel three times.
  4. Driver's door unlocks when the transmission is shifted into PARK: Press the unlock side of the power door lock switch on the door panel once.
  5. All doors unlock when the transmission is shifted into PARK: Press the unlock side of the power door lock switch on the door panel twice.
  6. All doors unlock when the key is removed from the ignition: Press the unlock side of the power door lock switch on the door panel three times.
  7. No automatic door unlock: Press the unlock side of the power door lock switch on the door panel four times.

Memory Seat Programming

Perform the following actions in order to program the memory seats for 2 separate drivers. Both outside mirrors and the radio station presets can also be programmed with the seat position

  1. Move the seat to the desired position. Include the recliner, lumbar, and side wing area seat position.
  2. Press the correct memory seat button for the specific driver and hold for 3 seconds. After pressing the switch a double chime should be heard.
  3. Repeat the steps for the second driver.

Easy Exit Seat Programming

Perform the following actions in order to program the memory seats for 2 separate drivers

  1. Press the correct memory seat button for the specific driver. The seat will move to the last stored memory position.
  2. Move the seat to the desired exit/entry position.
  3. Press the exit button and hold for 3 seconds. After pressing the switch a double chime should be heard.
  4. Repeat the steps for the second driver.

Programming Features with the Driver Information Center

To enter programming with the DIC, perform the following actions

  1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  2. Ensure that the vehicle is in PARK or that the park brake is applied.
  3. Press the personalization button on the DIC to scroll through all of the personalization options.

Automatic Locking/Automatic Unlocking

Continue with the following steps in order to program the automatic door locks feature

  1. The DIC displays LOCK DOORS: OUT OF PARK, MANUALLY or WITH SPEED.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.
  4. The DIC displays UNLOCK: ALL IN PARK, ALL AT KEY OUT, DOORS MANUALLY or DRIVER IN PARK.
  5. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  6. Press the personalization button in order to advance to the next option.

Remote Activation Verification

Continue with the following steps in order to program the remote activation verification feature

  1. The DIC displays REMOTE LOCK FEEDBACK: HORN, LAMPS, BOTH, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.
  4. The DIC displays REMOTE UNLOCK FEEDBACK: HORN, LAMPS, BOTH, or OFF.
  5. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  6. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Headlamp Delay

Continue with the following steps in order to program the headlamp delay feature

  1. The DIC displays HEADLAMP DELAY: OFF, 10 SEC, 20 SEC, 30 SEC, 60 SEC, 120 SEC, or 180 SEC.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Perimeter Lighting

Continue with the following steps in order to program the perimeter lighting feature

  1. The DIC displays PERIMETER LIGHTING: ON or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Seat Position Recall

Continue with the following steps in order to program the memory position recall feature

  1. The DIC displays SEAT POSITION RECALL: ON REMOTE, AT KEY IN, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Easy Exit Seat

Continue with the following steps in order to program the exit position recall feature

  1. The DIC displays SEAT POSITION EXIT: ON or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Curb View Assist

Continue with the following steps in order to program the Mirror Reverse Tilt feature

  1. The DIC displays CURB VIEW: PASSENGER, DRIVER, BOTH, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. When the vehicle is shifted into REVERSE and the Mirror Reverse Tilt feature is activated, any adjustments made to the preset position now becomes the new set position stored, this feature can be customized for each driver.
  4. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Alarm Warning Type

Continue with the following steps in order to program the alarm warning feature

  1. The DIC displays ALARM WARNING: HORN, LAMPS, BOTH, or OFF.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Display Language

Continue with the following steps in order to program the language displayed

  1. The DIC displays DISPLAY LANGUAGE: ENGLISH, FRENCH, or SPANISH.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Display Units (ENG/MET)

Continue with the following steps in order to program the display units

  1. The DIC displays UNITS: ENGLISH or METRIC.
  2. Press the select button in order to scroll through the above choices.
  3. Press the personalization button in order to select the displayed choice and to advance to the next option.

Exit Programming

The following actions end the programming session

  1. The ignition is turned OFF.
  2. The programming timer of 15 seconds expires.
  3. The personalization button is pressed until the DIC scrolls through all of the personalization options.
