Power Window System Cadillac Catera I

DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

WARNINGVehicles are equipped with air bags. Before attempting ANY repairs involving steering column or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.

Power window system consists of left and right front side door window switches, left and right rear side door switches, rear window lock-out switch and 4 side door window regulators motors. Each window contains a built-in programmable module to program the following features

  1. Program end stops.
  2. Invoke pinch guard feature when necessary.
  3. Stop power window operation when any door is open.

An input from all doors is supplied to left front side door window switch. If left front door senses any door is open, all door window switches are disabled.

Left and right door side window controls are located in center console which operate all windows and include a lock-out switch for rear windows. Rear window switches are operational only if rear window lock-out switch is in UNLOCK position.

Power windows are enabled until any door is opened when ignition is turned to OFF position. Power windows become disabled after any door is opened. Power windows have an express UP and express DOWN feature activated by holding any window switch either up or down.

POWER WINDOWS COMPONENT LOCATION

WINDOW ADJUSTMENT

  1. Open front side door. Grasp door upper sealing strip at upper outer corner and pull downward to expose window stop bumper. Loosen top bumper screw.
  2. Roll window fully up. Ensure window is fully seated in weatherstrip. Tighten stop bumper screw to 35 INCH lbs.
  3. Reposition upper sealing strip to original position. Close front door. Repeat for each door.

WINDOW MOTOR PROGRAMMING

If battery on vehicle has been disconnected, each side door window regulator must be reprogrammed in order for express UP or express DOWN feature to operate properly. Ensure there is no obstruction keeping window from closing completely or opening completely. Programming with an obstruction will cause express up or express down to spot where obstruction occurred. Use following steps to program side door window regulator motors

  1. Press and hold power window switch in DOWN position until window is fully down. Continue holding power window switch in DOWN position for 3 seconds.
  2. Press and hold power window switch in UP position until window is fully up. Continue holding power window switch in UP position for 3 seconds.
  3. Power window regulator motor is now programmed for express function. Repeat process for all power windows.

Note. See appropriate system diagnostic test applicable to symptom.

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate each power window up and down from left front side door window switch (on console), and then from each individual window switch. Each power window should operate smoothly and quietly, with no sticking or mechanical noises.
  2. Operate each power window up and down from left front side door window switch (on console) only. Each power window should operate smoothly and quietly, with no sticking or mechanical noises.
  3. Operate each power window up and down from each individual door window switch. Each power window should operate smoothly and quietly, with no sticking or mechanical noises.
  4. Operate express function for each window from each individual side door window switch by holding switch in UP or DOWN position for one second. Express function on each power window should operate quietly and smoothly, with no sticking or mechanical noises.

SYSTEM TESTS

Note. To prevent damage to terminal, connector Test Adaptor Kit (J 35616-A) must be used whenever a diagnostic procedure requires checking or probing a terminal. To identify terminals, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

POWER WINDOWS INOPERATIVE

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. Disconnect left front side door window switch 9-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front side door window switch connector terminal No. 7 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or short to ground in Red wire between fuse block and left front side door window switch. Go to step 13).
  4. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front side door window switch connector terminal No. 6 (Brown wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 6). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  5. Repair open in Brown wire between left front side door window switch and splice S308. Go to step 13).
  6. Disconnect right front side door window switch 6-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance at right front side door window switch connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 8). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  7. Repair open in Black wire between right front side door window switch and ground. Go to step 13).
  8. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Black wire between left front side door window switch connector terminal No. 11 and right front side door window switch connector terminal No. 11. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 10). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  9. repair open in Black wire between left front side door window switch connector terminal No. 11 and right front side door window switch connector terminal 11. Go to step 13).
  10. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Brown wire between left front side door window switch connector terminal No. 10 and right front side door window switch connector terminal No. 10. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 12). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  11. Repair open in Brown wire between left front side door window switch connector terminal No. 10 and right front side door window switch connector terminal No. 10.
  12. Replace left and right front side door switches. Go to next step.
  13. Connect any disconnected connectors. Verify power windows operate properly. If all windows operate properly, system is okay. If power windows do not operate properly, go to step 1).

LEFT FRONT WINDOW EXPRESS INOPERATIVE

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. If front side door window regulator motor operates properly from left front side door window switch, go to step 4). If front side door window regulator motor does not operate properly from left front side door window switch, go to next step.
  3. Go to «LEFT FRONT WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM LEFT FRONT SWITCH»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__left-front-window-inoperative-from-left) for diagnosis. After repair, go to step 7) of this test.
  4. Program left front side door window regulator motor. See «WINDOW MOTOR PROGRAMMING»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__window-motor-programming) . When programming complete, go to next step.
  5. If left front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN operate properly, system is okay. If left front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to next step.
  6. Replace left front side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  7. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN operate properly. If left front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to step 1).

LEFT REAR WINDOW EXPRESS INOPERATIVE

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. If left rear side door window regulator motor operates properly from left front side door window switch, go to step 4). If left rear side door window regulator motor does not operate properly from left front side door window switch, go to next step.
  3. Go to «LEFT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM LEFT FRONT SWITCH»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__left-rear-window-inoperative-from-left) for diagnosis. After repair, go to step 7).
  4. Program left rear side door window regulator motor. See «WINDOW MOTOR PROGRAMMING»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__window-motor-programming) . When programming complete, go to next step.
  5. If left rear side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN operate properly, system is okay. If left rear side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to next step.
  6. Replace left rear side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  7. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left rear side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN features operate properly. If left front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to step 1).

RIGHT FRONT WINDOW EXPRESS INOPERATIVE

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. If right front side door window regulator motor operates properly from right front side door window switch, go to step 4). If right front side door window regulator motor does not operate properly from right front side door window switch, go to next step.
  3. Go to «RIGHT FRONT WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM RIGHT FRONT SWITCH»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__right-front-window-inoperative-from-right) for diagnosis. After repair, go to step 7).
  4. Program right front side door window regulator motor. See «WINDOW MOTOR PROGRAMMING»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__window-motor-programming) . When programming is complete, go to next step.
  5. If right front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN operate properly, system is okay. If right front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to next step.
  6. Replace right front side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  7. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify right front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN operate properly. If right front side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to step 1).

RIGHT REAR WINDOW EXPRESS INOPERATIVE

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. If right rear side door window regulator motor operates properly from right rear side door window switch, go to step 4). If right rear side door window regulator motor does not operate properly from right rear side door window switch, go to next step.
  3. Go to «RIGHT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM RIGHT REAR SWITCH»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__right-rear-window-inoperative-from-right) for diagnosis. After repair, go to step 7) of this test.
  4. Program right rear side door window regulator motor. See «WINDOW MOTOR PROGRAMMING»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system__window-motor-programming) . When programming complete, go to next step.
  5. If right rear side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN operate properly, system is okay. If right rear side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to next step.
  6. Replace right rear side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  7. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify right rear side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN operate properly. If right rear side door window regulator motor express UP and DOWN do not operate properly, go to step 1).

LEFT FRONT WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM LEFT FRONT SWITCH

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. Disconnect left front side door window regulator motor connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front side door regulator motor 6-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between left front side door window regulator motor and splice S271. After repair is complete, go to step 11).
  4. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at left front side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between left front side door window regulator motor and splice S503.
  6. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Press left front side door window switch UP button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Green wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 8). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Repair open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between left front side door window switch and left front side door window regulator motor. If Gray/Green wire okay, replace left front side door window switch. After repair, go to step 11).
  8. Press left front side door window switch DOWN button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 10). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between left front side door window switch and left front side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to step 11).
  10. Replace left front side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  11. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left front side door power window operates properly. If left front side door power window does not operate properly, go to step 1).

LEFT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM LEFT FRONT SWITCH

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. Disconnect left rear side door window regulator motor connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear side door regulator motor 6-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between left rear side door window regulator motor and splice S272. After repair is complete, go to step 11).
  4. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at left rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between left rear side door window regulator motor and splice S700.
  6. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Press left front side door window switch to UP position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Green wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 8). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Repair open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between left front side door window switch and left rear side door window regulator motor. If Gray/Green wire okay, replace left front side door window switch. After repair, go to step 11).
  8. Press left front side door window switch DOWN button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 10). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between left front side door window switch and left rear side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to step 11).
  10. Replace left rear side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  11. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left front side door power window operates properly. If left rear side door power window does not operate properly, go to step 1).

RIGHT FRONT WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM RIGHT FRONT SWITCH

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. Disconnect right front side door window regulator motor connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right front side door regulator motor 6-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between right front side door window regulator motor and splice S271. After repair is complete, go to step 11).
  4. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at right front side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between right front side door window regulator motor and splice S602.
  6. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Disconnect right front side door window switch. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right front side door window switch connector terminal No. 10 (Brown wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 8). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Repair open or high resistance in Brown wire between left front side door window switch and right front side door window switch. After repair, go to step 13).
  8. Connect right front side door window switch. Press right front side door window switch UP button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right front side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Green wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 10). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between right front side door window switch and right front side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to step 13).
  10. Press right front side door window DOWN button. Using DVOM connected to ground measure voltage at right front side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 12). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  11. Repair open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between right front side door window switch and right front side door window regulator motor. If wire is okay, replace right front side door window switch.
  12. Replace right front side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  13. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left rear side door power window operates properly. If right front side door power window does not operate properly, go to step 1).

LEFT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM LEFT REAR SIDE DOOR WINDOW SWITCH

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. Disconnect left rear side door window regulator motor 6-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear side door regulator motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between left rear side door window regulator motor and splice S272. After repair is complete, go to step 13).
  4. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at left rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between left rear side door window regulator motor and splice S700. After repair is complete, go to step 13).
  6. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure rear window lock-out switch in UNLOCK position. Disconnect left rear side door window switch 9-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear side door window switch connector terminal No. 7 (White wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 8). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Repair open or high resistance in White wire between left rear side door window switch and splice S273. After repair, go to step 13).
  8. Connect left rear side door window switch. Press left rear side door window switch UP button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Green wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 10). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between left rear side door window switch and left rear side door window regulator motor. If wire okay, replace left rear side door window switch. After repair, go to step 13).
  10. Press left rear side door window switch DOWN button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 12). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  11. Repair open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between left rear side door window switch and left rear side door window regulator motor.
  12. Replace left rear side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  13. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left rear side door power window operates properly. If left rear side door power window does not operate properly, go to step 1).

RIGHT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM RIGHT REAR SWITCH

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. Disconnect right rear side door window regulator motor 6-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right rear side door regulator motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between right rear side door window regulator motor and splice S272. After repair is complete, go to step 13).
  4. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at right rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between right rear side door window regulator motor and splice S800. After repair, go to step 13).
  6. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure rear window lock-out switch in UNLOCK position. Disconnect right rear side door window switch 9-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right rear side door window switch connector terminal No. 7 (White wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 8). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Repair open or high resistance in White wire between right rear side door window switch and splice S273. After repair, go to step 13).
  8. Connect right rear side door window switch. Press right rear side door window switch UP button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Green wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 10). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between right rear side door window switch and right rear side door window regulator motor. If wire okay, replace right rear side door window switch. After repair, go to step 13).
  10. Press right rear side door window switch DOWN button. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 12). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  11. Repair open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between right rear side door window switch and right rear side door window switch.
  12. Replace right rear side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  13. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify right rear side door power window operates properly. If right rear side door power window does not operate properly, go to step 1).

RIGHT REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE FROM RIGHT FRONT SWITCH

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, see «POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK»(/cadillac/catera/i-1996-2001/remont/windows/#power-window-system) .
  2. Disconnect right front side door window regulator motor 6-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right front side door regulator motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between right rear side door window regulator motor and splice S272. After repair is complete, go to step 13).
  4. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at right front side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between right front side door window regulator motor and splice S602. After repair, go to step 13).
  6. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure rear window lock-out switch in UNLOCK position. Disconnect right front side door window switch 9-pin connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right front side door window switch connector terminal No. 10 (Brown wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 8). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Repair open or high resistance in Brown wire between right front side door window switch and right rear side door window switch. After repair, go to step 13).
  8. Connect right front side door window switch. Press right front side door window switch to UP position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4 (Gray/Green wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 10). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between right front side door window switch and connector C304. If wire okay, replace right front side door window switch. After repair is complete, go to step 13).
  10. Press right front side door window switch to DOWN position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at right rear side door window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 12) If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  11. Repair open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between right front side door window switch and connector C304.
  12. Replace right rear side door window regulator motor. After repair, go to next step.
  13. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify right rear side door power window operates properly. If right rear side door power window does not operate properly, go to step 1).

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

WARNINGVehicles are equipped with air bags. Before attempting ANY repairs involving steering column or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
CAUTIONDisconnect power window switch when working inside vehicle doors. Express down feature, if activated, allows window to drop very quickly, which may cause personal injury.

Front Door

  1. Roll window halfway down. Tape window into place. Remove assist handle and cover. Remove power lock switch. Remove trim panel screws. Remove front door trim panel. Remove front door water deflector.
  2. Remove inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate (if equipped). Disconnect power window regulator motor electrical connector. Remove guide rail adjuster.
  3. Drill out rivets. Remove front door window regulator and motor. Remove door window regulator from motor. 4) To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten window regulator to motor screws to 45 INCH lbs. (5 N.m). Install NEW rivets to regulator

Rear Window

  1. Roll window halfway down. Tape window into place. Remove assist handle and cover. Remove panel trim screws. Remove rear trim panel. Remove water deflector. Remove inner belt sealing strip. remove outer belt sealing strip.
  2. Remove door window weatherstrip. Remove inside door handle. Disconnect door window electrical connector. Drill out rivets holding door window regulator and motor. Disconnect guide form door window regulator and motor form sash. Remove door window regulator form motor.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Removal & Installation (Front)

Remove gear selector boot from console by gently pulling on front end of boot. Disconnect electrical connector from power window switch. Reach under console, push up on switch to dislodge. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Removal & Installation (Rear)

Remove assist handle and cover. Disconnect power window switch electrical connector. Snap out switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.
