Circuit/System Testing Cadillac ATS I

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the M71 Transfer Case Clutch Coil.
  2. Test for 3.4-3.9 V between the control circuit, terminal A, and ground. If less than 3.4 V Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K69 Transfer Case Control Module. Test for less than 10 ohms in control circuit end to end. If 10 ohms or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit. If less than 10 ohms Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit and ground. If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground in the circuit. If infinite resistance Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit, terminal 5, and all other pins of the K69 Transfer Case Control Module harness connector X1. If less than infinite resistance, repair the shorted together condition in the affected circuits. If infinite resistance, replace the K69 Transfer Case Control Module and perform the Transfer Case Clutch Identifier Configuration/Reset function. Refer to «Transfer Case Shift Control Module Scan Tool Information (BW 4474)»(/cadillac/ats/i-2012-2014/remont/oem-general-information/#vehicle-diagnostic-information-scan-tool-information-2-of-2__transfer-case-shift-control-module-scan) . If greater than 3.9 V Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K69 Transfer Case Control Module. Ignition ON, engine OFF. Test for less than 1 V between the control circuit and ground. If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit. If less than 1 V Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit, terminal 5, and all other pins of the K69 Transfer Case Control Module harness connector X1. If less than infinite resistance, repair the shorted together condition in the affected circuits. If infinite resistance, replace the K69 Transfer Case Control Module and perform the Transfer Case Clutch Identifier Configuration/Reset function. Refer to «Transfer Case Shift Control Module Scan Tool Information (BW 4474)»(/cadillac/ats/i-2012-2014/remont/oem-general-information/#vehicle-diagnostic-information-scan-tool-information-2-of-2__transfer-case-shift-control-module-scan) . If between 3.4-3.9 V
  3. Test for 3.4-3.9 V between the control circuit, terminal A, and the low reference circuit, terminal B. If less than 3.4 V Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K69 Transfer Case Control Module. Test for less than 10 ohms in the low reference circuit end to end. If 10 ohms or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit. If less than 10 ohms Test for infinite resistance between the low reference circuit and ground. If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground in the circuit. If infinite resistance Test for infinite resistance between the low reference circuit, terminal 4, and all other pins of the K69 Transfer Case Control Module harness connector X1. Test for less than 1 V between the low reference circuit and ground. If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit. If less than 1 V Test for infinite resistance between the low reference circuit, terminal 4, and all other pins of the K69 Transfer Case Control Module harness connector X1. If less than infinite resistance, repair the shorted together condition in the affected circuits. If infinite resistance, replace the K69 Transfer Case Control Module and perform the Transfer Case Clutch Identifier Configuration/Reset function. Refer to «Transfer Case Shift Control Module Scan Tool Information (BW 4474)»(/cadillac/ats/i-2012-2014/remont/oem-general-information/#vehicle-diagnostic-information-scan-tool-information-2-of-2__transfer-case-shift-control-module-scan) . If between 3.4-3.9 V
  4. Control circuit, low reference, and K69 Transfer Case Control Module OK.
