OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR
Light indicates low engine oil pressure, but does not indicate amount of oil in engine. Light should come on as a bulb check when ignition switch is in ON position, but should go out after engine is started. Have the system checked and serviced if light remains on or comes on while driving. DO NOT operate vehicle until cause is located and corrected.
ALTERNATOR (CHARGING SYSTEM) LIGHT
Light should come on when ignition switch is in ON position, but should go out after engine is started. If light remains on or comes on when engine is running, have the system checked and serviced as soon as possible.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE LIGHT
Light is designed to come on briefly when engine is first started as a bulb check. If it remains on or comes on while driving, it indicates a potential engine overheating condition. Stop vehicle operation as soon as possible.
LOW COOLANT WARNING LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
Warning light is designed to come on if engine coolant level is low by 3 quarts or more. Continued operation of vehicle in this condition without adding coolant may result in engine damage due to overheating. Light will also come on briefly during engine starting as a bulb check. Check fuse and bulb if light fails to come on as described.
BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
Vehicle is equipped with dual braking system, which provides back-up braking capability should failure occurs in either half of the hydraulic system. If there is failure in either half of dual braking system, warning light will come on when brake pedal is depressed. In such case, have system checked and serviced as soon as possible. Light should come on briefly as a bulb check when engine is first started. Light will also come on with ignition switch in ON position and parking brake applied.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
Warning light comes on if there is a malfunction in the rear brake lock-up system. If a malfunction occurs in anti-lock brake system, conventional brake system will still operate normally but without anti-lock assistance. Light is designed to come on briefly as a bulb check with ignition switch in ON position; light should go out after engine is started. If light remains on or comes on while driving, have system checked and serviced.
SERVICE ENGINE SOON/CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT
SERVICE ENGINE SOON or CHECK ENGINE warning light indicates a malfunction in engine control system. If functioning correctly, light comes on when ignition is turned on and goes out after engine is started.
If light does not come on as described or comes on with engine running, have system checked and serviced. Prolonged vehicle operation without having system serviced could affect fuel economy and driveability; emission control system may also be damaged.
